1-1 to start the season after they had games under their belts. Squeaked by us after 8 went down, before our guys found their legs. Go into their house, get two and on to the next W.

Last season this was a bad match up for us. The Devils are a fast team.
Now with our slowest player out (Ovie) We might be just as fast if not faster.

We played last night so we might not have the freshest legs to keep up all game.

This is a fair back-to-back as both teams played yesterday, and the Devils were in Detroit (so they had to travel). Caps probably spent the night in NYC or Newark given the game yesterday at the Islanders.

This is a fair back-to-back as both teams played yesterday, and the Devils were in Detroit (so they had to travel). Caps probably spent the night in NYC or Newark given the game yesterday at the Islanders.

This is a pretty big game. Oddly enough, the LAST one in the season series w the Debbie’s. Need to win to split the season series at 2-2.

Loss doesn’t kill them, obv. But a win leaps them into 1st place in the Metro. That would be fun!!!

They’re irrelevant. They’ve been irrelevant since the Cup run in 2011-12, they have two playoff appearances since then despite multiple first overall picks plus 2OA, 4, 6, and 7 during that same time period. When they can make the playoffs more than one year in a row they can start thinking about wanting to think about other teams.

The Devils played the Wings. DC to New Jersey you can take the train, so 2h 30 min ride. Detroit back to Newark by flight is under 2 hours but you are changing time zones. Train is more comfortable to ride in and you are at ground level.

Would like to see a better officiated game than last time. Refs were not calling even obvious infractions(there 3 of them) on the Devils. Devils had 5 PP's to our 2 PP's, was just total BS!

Frauds don't maintain being the #1 offense in the league with OV being out for 4+ weeks!

I have 3 concerns in no particular order:

- Lindgren in net. Can he eliminate the soft goals allowed?
- Jake Allen always plays well against us.
- Very suspect officiating in the last meeting.

None of it matters but logistically a lot easier to get to NJ from DC than having to travel from. Detroit.
