Wasn't able to watch live but it sounds like the DOOM from Sunday is over and the team has found their Ovie-less identity.
It does really feel like the first two were "Oh man, Ovi's out" and now they're saying "we have a pretty damned good team. Let's go get another W tonight".

No no no...no the attitudes change to:

Can't believe Ovi was holding the team back so much.

Honestly I think the best thing for the Caps was going on the road. I think with Ovechkin out they were gripping their sticks too tight, and it didn’t help that their first games were against two really good teams. Sometimes going on the road is good to recenter teams, help you find and simplify your game, and I think that’s what happened.

Islanders tomorrow and Devils on Saturday. It’s funny, I don’t think it’ll happen but I almost wish we could go back to Lindgren tomorrow for the Islanders and LT against the Devils, especially because that would make it Lindgren against the Sharks and LT against the Leafs after that. But I think even with a not stellar start to the season the team and the staff still has tons of faith in Lindgren, and I don’t blame them, we know he’s a good goalie, and we know that our team can win any game.

I don't know that we're quite at the point where LT has taken over, but it's certainly trending that way. Even ignoring the muffin last night, LT is putting up better, more consistent numbers (ignoring wins which is a flawed goalie stat).

LT - .917 sv%; 2.44 GAA; +5.0 GSAA (hockey-reference)
CL - .897 sv%; 2.76 GAA; -1.3 GSAA (hockey-reference)

Moneypuck is even more dramatic. If you use their goals saved above expected model (all situations not just five on five), LT is 5th while Lindgren is 55th.

Seems to fit with my general vibe check. I expect Charlie to come up with some big saves, but I at the moment kind of expect LT to stop everything.
