Rough period for Cole. Concern is that his play will fall off from getting overused at age 34. Should be getting load managed.

Overall though a good road period against a good team, unlucky to be down.

I wish Allvin would trade for this defenseman that he knows we need, sooner rather than later.

Very happy with the Canuxks play that period. The refs not so much.

That's just his game, he takes alot of penalites regardless of his age

Good period with some bad luck. There's a lot of open ice out there. Canucks can claw back if they time their reads better

Need to put the lines in a blender here

PDG-Pettersson-Hoglander
Mikheyev-Miller-Boeser
Beauvllier-Blueger-Kuzmenko
Joshua-Lafferty-Garland

I’d run that personally

Now that the Avs have the lead, we'll for sure get at least +2 PP's in the 2nd period.

Game management works both ways.

We'll get our chance.
The fact that "game management" is a thing makes this league an absolute laughing stock among the other top leagues. Refs have way too much power. All calls should be automatically reviewed. It sucks that it has to come to this, but it's what must be done to fix this shit.

At the very least, there should be internal rating systems among refs, and those that fall under a certain score by the end of the season should be replaced.

EP40 has to show up in the 2nd during 5 on 5 play. He goes ghost mode for far to long.

I wonder sometimes with Hronek like he may just end up being the guy who plays next to Hughes because he has defensive moments that I question his commitment/iq. I know that was a PP goal but I feel like with a guy like Cole, I know what I'm getting if he's going up in a hard minutes role. With Hronek, I just don't feel comfortable with that? But I do know he can be an elite partner next to Hughes?
People are kidding themselves if they thought Hronek, an offensive defenceman, was going to be some defensive stalwart that would "free up" Hughes to dominate offensively.

However, they do seem to control the play a ton when paired together so it ends up working out pretty well.

The only time they look vulnerable is if they get hemmed into their zone or are on the PK.

Been very up and down recently and I think that worry is very valid.

Would be cool if we had the capspace this summer for Hanifin and Nylander lol

Feels like a Bieksa. A guy who cannot cement a pairing, but can thrive next to a stable partner.

Yeah I don't watch other teams much so I didn't have an opinion of Hronek beforehand

And you cant just give your 3rd best D days off

Ian Cole shouldn't be your 3rd best D if you're trying to win, especially at his age.

Not his fault, but that's failure on management if they're actually trying to win. Still not sure if they are or not lol

Allvin needs to get on the phone and get Zadorov or Tanev or something. Cant expect to go with Freidman/Myers/Juulsen and a 34 year old Cole for 8 weeks.
