All the 1st overalls just destroy this team. McDavid has more points against this team than any other in the league. Jack Hughes always lights us up. I remember Tavares routinely kicking the shit out of us when he was an Islander.

Defense is completely out of sorts from the pairings being put in a blender, but can’t really blame Tocchet. I don’t know what you’re supposed to do as a coach in that spot unless Hughes is going to play 30 minutes against the worst team in the league.

Lankinen not great, but my God this is Beaudreau level defense.

Myers sucked for roughly ~3.5 years of his previous 5 year deal, him sucking again is the least unpredictable thing about this season.

Soucy dropoff is surprising but again, the Myers effect is real. No d partner has survived two seasons with him and looked good doing it even when it looked okay to start.

This was just straight up awful negotiation by management.

Myers wasn't going anywhere. He wanted to stay in Vancouver.

They could've gotten him on 2 years, 2.5M and with no NTC's/NMC's.

Should have just told him he's getting one year deals every year and to deal with it if we really desperately wanted him back.

We've looked really good in a lot of moments offensively. Hoglander is already on the way out, so Soucy-Myers is the only big concern.
