I think the loss of Cole has also been underestimated. Soucy-Myers was bad last year too. Cole-Myers was much better and even Juulsen looked passable playing with Cole, at least during the regular season.
Yeah, as bad as Cole was down the stretch (due to age), he started off really well here.

I also think Tocchet's modified his system a big to allow more offense, and the defensemen have not been able to adjust as well. It makes me wonder if Desharnais/Forbort would be better if we reverted to last season's system.

If Tocc wants to send a message, bench EP. $11 million to have 4 goals, 9 points in 14 games? Enough is enough. We're almost at a quarter point of the season and he still looks as lost as he did during the playoffs.

Cole was a net positive until the playoffs, IMO that was an unfortunate for him considering he had been a stabilizing force for most of the season.
To be fair he played on a bum ankle. He is sorely missed.

Zadorov got a bad contract but the Canucks possession game improved when he was acquired too

Cole was so good for the regular season and 1st round.

His play in the 2nd round was beyond atrocious. He was worse than Juulsen.

Cole got sloppy in the playoffs and looked like a mess as time went on. It wasn't until I learned the extent of his injury where I cut him some slack. He had a massive laceration on his leg/foot. I like Cole, I think he was a heart and soul player that we're missing now.

What if I told you Cole is playing 20 minutes a night on a team whose record isn't that much different than ours?

Guy was the most underrated player on the 2024 Canucks.

Those EP one timers were the most dangerous this PP has looked in a long time.

NOW, don't go to the well too often. Push it through Miller this time, try to hit Lekk for the Boeser shot. Then go back to the one timer. Then try for a Quinn point screen.

This isn't that hard.

Actually they are already doing what I suggested, they got Miller for an actual bumper shot. Haven't seen that for ages.
