I think he gets a long leash as a home grown player who plays the right way and has made consistent improvements throughout his career.
His goal this season will be solidify himself as a legitimate NHL player, which is easier said than done but I think he can do it.
I don’t think they have misguided view that he’ll be a Lekkerimaki type talent, rather can they develop him to one day be a Pius Suter-like utility player.

Bains played pretty well. Bains is a good 13th or 14th forward that can play on in either wing in the bottom 6 in case of injury, emphasis on bottom 6 not top 6.

I've always liked him, sad to see him go, and glad he's doing well in Long Island. I will stick with that mindset no matter what. this is a different situation than when Kesler left. We don't know what happened, we couldn't sign Bo doesn't mean he didn't want to stay. Hockey is business.

I can totally understand why people have a had problem with his usage but like how others have mentioned, the extreme attitude that some have towards him is super weird for a player that at worst looks like a 13th forward that still has some potential.

he’s also steadily progressed since we signed him while moving up levels, and this year has added a noticeable step to his skating imo. This isn’t a prospect that’s stagnated, he’s growing his game every year and it feels like fans should be behind him.
But like you I also understand those who would rather not see him in the top 6.
