Both can be true. He's been our best player so I'm fine to give him a pass as he's likely to score or set up a goal later in the game anyway.Hughes has been carrying the team on his back for weeks now. He can't do it forever.
Hronek has generally been pretty good, but he’s being extra indecisive with the puck. Just shoot it sometimes man
Does anybody actually eat that shit? It's covered in jelly fat.I think our D is also like spam. Only it looks disgusting and it also is!
I get it, and it’s also way too much deferring to Hughes (rightfully so, but he waits and telegraphs it way too hard)I think sometimes he's waiting for traffic to get to the net. Makes him look like his controller has disconnected for a second.
‘Giving up goals like that’ ?? It was a flukey goal against. Both can be true. He's been our best player so I'm fine to give him a pass as he's likely to score or set up a goal later in the game anyway.
But if our top pairing is giving up goals like that, what do we think the other pairings are going to do?
I'd love for us to get a really strong defensive defenceman to pair with Hughes and put Hronek on the second pairing.
Having two offensive minded defenceman on our top pairing never really made a ton of sense to me.
Well, good news is that they seem to want to double down on size and physicality, and don't seem to think Brannstrom has to be an every game hockey player, according to tweets todayPetey looked good, team had the better run of play but Calgary has had some rush chances. Should be able to come back, not particularly worried.
Only issue again is the stark difference in puck moving when Hughes is on/off the ice. He’s the best in the league at it, but the other two pairings are absolutely miserable at it outside of Brannstrom. It’s not surprising Miller’s production has gone down now that he’s not starting every shift with Hughes.
Real question is how long they can hang out without an upgrade in that spot, especially with Boeser out.
Peaking at the start of the year is almost never the recipe for successJets are 15-1. I think this is their year.
Would love to see it, honestly. It's been too long, and I could never cheer for Edmonton, Calgary or Toronto.

Long season yet injuries hit at some point and you want to be playing like this in April ways to goJets are 15-1. I think this is their year.

Lekkerimaki on the ice for 4:20 in the first gotta love it.
Hughes f..ked up take man not the puck he will probably get that back but no more of those mistakes tonight win one at home get it goingWeird goal against the flow of the play.
He tried to clear a bouncing puck to the corner and flubbed it and it went directly to Kirkland. It happens. It wasn’t some kind of defensive breakdown. Not a play that suggests we need to break up the Hughes-Hronek pair.No it wasn't?
Hughes failed to clear out the rebound properly and handed the puck directly to Kirkland.
Let's take our homer glasses off for a second.
Critcism of a single play doesn't mean I'm saying Hughes sucks at hockey.
