Has Garland with Miller ever worked anyway?

Petey was starting to get going with Garland, why not keep them together.

Debrusk was starting to get going with Miller, albeit that was with Boeser there as well.

Everything about the lineup decisions against Edmonton was bad.

Suter - Pettersson - Garland
Debrusk - Miller - Lekkerimaki
win da turd line
Joshua - Raty - Hoglander

And then swap Joshua and Suter whenever he's ready.
Bains in Joshua's spot if he's not ready for next game.

i hate to break up our most consistent line but imo garland needs to be on his own line. he produces good individual results on whatever line he’s on but is kryptonite to petey and miller so it’s diminishing returns when he is with them.

debrusk petey sherwood
suter miller lek
hoglander/heinen blueger garland
hoglander/heinen raty bains

unless you’re willing to load up petey and miller and go

miller petey lek
debrusk suter garland
heinen blueger sherwood
hog raty bains

(tocchet said joshua won’t be back next game, i think)

I don't like your first lineup and think EP is finally starting to mesh with Garland. Keep them together for now.

But if i was going to split them, I'd go with your second lineup. Wouldn't try it vs teams with lots of quality at C ( like EDM when McDrai are separated) but I'd like to see it.

Looking at Petey to see if he can continue the momentum and get back to his old self. The last few games have been promising, and if Miller & Boeser get healthy, they'll be in a good spot up front.

While Petey has been the clear concern for scoring up front so far, the Canucks are also a bottom 10 team on goals from the blueline. Some of that is shooting % driven, the other is the bottom 4 have generated nothing so far. Not that it's unexpected given the personnel, but a goal or two more every 10 games would be nice.

Also interesting to see that the Canucks have one of the worst GSAE. A lot of that is from last game and Silovs being terrible so far, but something to monitor going forward. I think a lot of people forget how dominant Demko was in the early parts of last year when their defensive form was miles worse than it is now, and how much that saved them.

I found Tocchet’s comments about going with 11/7 quite funny. He hasn’t done it before, didn’t like it this time, probably won’t do it again, and seemed kind of grossed out about the whole experience.
And a lot of it was the seventh D he adores going -3 in like 7 minutes of ice. Literal liability lol.

Last year they had the 5th best defence in the league once they got Zadorov.

It should be an easier game, well rested and a tired opponent. Being a divisional game should give the Canucks added motivation.
This mysterious lack of injury information is odd.

Boeser's injury, has to be concussion, IDIOTS put him on a plane.

They have to get a big lead in the first two periods, Calgary have been THE come back team this year.

Pettersson's birthday so he should be motivated.

I know this because it's also my birthday. (Not fishing for birthday comments..ok a little) but I am much senior to ol EP. And not as wealthy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU OLD FART!

Feel bad for Mantha....Looked like an absolute stud in the early stages of his career....Injuries and playing on bad teams did nothing to secure the type of legacy he could have had. This one is probably a death nail to getting another good contract and will be 31/32 by the time he is even able to perform at a decent level athletically

I'm surprised he's had the career he's had, he always had the bad rap of a Daniel Sprong, Josh Ho Sang, offensive junior star but low character type player for some reason. Those kind of guys often end up bouncing around and not getting looks or settling in as middling players. He's had a not bad career.

As a prospect he was extremely tantalizing with his skill and size combo

I like that lineup. Suter is probably more defensively responsible than Debrusk so putting him on that top line with Lekkerimaki (who will probably struggle defensively) seems like a good move.

I kind of think this Lekkerimaki audition is coming too early but I’m also excited to see how it works out.
