IMO, it’s not an issue of effort, but confidence.
I get yelled at by contractors every day to make in one year 1/2 of what he makes in a single f***ing game. And I show up to work every day with a smile ready to get my head kicked in, because that's just what you do.
I'm sorry, I don't buy it. He is a professional athlete being paid $11.6 million dollars to play a sport in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I am a mental health advocate, and I just can't fathom how you can have confidence problems to this degree when you are living the dream of hundreds of thousands of kids across North America.
At some point, he just has to buckle the f*** down and get it done. He's not a rookie or a kid, he's a grown man who is supposed to be in his prime and one of the leaders on this team. The only thing that is passable here is if he's chronically injured, and that's an entirely separate conversation.
Enough is enough - people need to stop making excuses for this guy. I have his jersey but it doesn't matter, he's just not f***ing good enough.
