Youre ok- hes playing the heel here- its almost certainly an alternate account- who in their right mind dunks on a guy whose smashing through every challenge pro hockey puts in front of him with aplomb and maybe even too much confidence- lol! A troll does bud- dont feed the trolls- theres a special conversation to be had here...

Clarke and Broberg are the ultimate example of D taking longer to develop. People nowadays expect 18-19-20 years old D to come into the league and dominate. It doesn’t work like that.

I’m happy for Clarke. Always liked his potential and I’m glad he’s living up to it!
I think in Clarke's case it's just typical King's front office shenanigans of oversigning replacement level RHDs to block their prospects. Now they are forced to actually play him and surprise surprise, he's pretty good. The scary thing is they actually try to re-sign Matt Roy which would have sent Clarke back to Ontario again.

I don’t think Clarke would have performed like that last year even if given the chance. Sometimes they need the games in the AHL and pro experience to be able to deal day in day out with the best NHLers. I also find young D are having a hard time being consistent in the NHL. You could see last year flashes of what he can do but consistency was an issue.

Clarke is probably going to have his moments where he is struggling this year and it’s going to be totally normal and part of the process. He isn’t going to be fully mature until 26-27

Please don’t make this about Reinbacher.

It is not like Clarke has been buried for years in the Ahl either . One year was totally justified . I think they well managed this part about him. What I’m frustrated about is more deployment so far especially on the pp. his strength is to use deception to feed a rh player onetimer. They just should try to exploit every bit of his strengths and talent and design the pp around him. Problem is that these clowns managing this team have no one RH to shoot the puck.

They thought let’s sign Joel Edmundson 4x 4-5m so he can babysit him. I would have signed David Perron 1year instead.

Maybe, but they were never going to play him any meaningful number of games last season because of the horrific job Blake did with the cap and the big extension they gave PLD. Also, because of the complete overload of signed RHDs, they actually played Clarke on the left a good amount of his time up with the team. What kind of genius front office decides it's a good idea to play their top prospect on his opposite side to break into his NHL career?

And let's staple Byfield to the half-wall on the 2nd PP unit while we're at it. That makes sense.

Not comparing them as players in stature necessarily but it's hilarious watching the Kings pass the torch from one horrendously ugly skater in Doughty to Clarke.

Their strides totally belie their effectiveness. Amazing players in their own rights but absolutely ZERO grace doing it which I think throws off people's perceptions.

Every time Clarke is out there it looks like his first time on skates.

He makes me look like a genius after I took him as a last pick in 3 of my hockey pools. The injury to Doughty was really the perfect opportunity for him.

I wonder what the Kings will do when Doughty is back.

Lmao. You made the ridiculous claim that he doesn't play to not trigger the bonuses. So I asked a simple question, in which category he would have achieved the bonus. You naturally don't answer because you have no idea what you are talking about.

Again, just because someone is drafted 8th doesn't make him a good player. If you had the brain cells to at least look at the drafts of the past 15 years, you'd realize that a significant number of the top 10 draft picks didn't become impactful NHL players, and a majority of them didn't even come close to the level of quality predicted before the draft.

I still stand by my claim that Clarke is just a poor-man's version of Ekblad. Which in itself is a red flag, as Ekblad hasn't come close to transferring his performance in the junior leagues to the NHL. So far there is nothing to suggest that I am wrong about Clarke.

Come troll me then when he plays regularly in the NHL and dominates on both ends of the ice. Right now he's just a 21 year old healhty scratch, the argument that he was drafted high and therefore will be a very good player is pretty weak. I guess you are one of those who would have rather traded Quick and kept Bernier just because he was a high draft pick.

Sup

That's around some inexperienced dman named Pietrangelo

PPG, Kings 2nd leading scorer behind Kopitar, 58.82 GF%.

It's amazing to me how fans of other teams have absolutely no clue how incredibly good the Kings front office is at blocking their own prospects from a runway to succeed. This never happens if they resign Matt Roy like they attempted to do. Not to mention Doughty being out injured. They don't allow these kids to grow unless they absolutely have no other choice

As someone who owns clarke and Byfield in my 32 team keeper league I understand and feel y’all’s pain
