Oh no Juulsen please
I wonder if someone is banged up. I don't think anyone has played at a level that would merit them coming out of the lineup for Juulsen otherwise.
Oh no Juulsen please
don't want to expose him to waivers is the most probable reasonWhy is Juulsen still here?
We always seem to play well against the Hurricanes, dating back to the infamous stick break celly by Burrows.
Thank you for providing logic. I can understand this reasoning. Maybe it’ll be their only opportunity to play him, especially with Forbort being back soon.I wonder if they play Juulsen as a test to see if he can be a fit with Brannstrom and if not he becomes one of the players they look at waiving in order to make room for Joshua.
Feel like the Canes are a better opponent for Silovs to regain confidence since they tend spam more lower % shots and have less high end finishers compared to NJ but we'll see.

I've seen some massive goals at GM Place/Rogers Arena and I have never heard it as loud as that goal. Only comparables was Daniel's retirement goal and Burrows game 7 winner vs the Hawks, but I still think the Canes one was louder.
Good point, this thought actually crossed my mind right after I posted. I guess Anaheim does make the most sense.Except Silovs' problem is that he struggles with low-percentage point shots, which is basically what Carolina spam at opposition nets.
As an aside, I suspect you can probably use % of shots taken by defenders as a predictor of PDO. Carolina last year was at 32% and we were at 27%.
Silovs really seems to struggle with tracking on some of the low percentage shots though.Feel like the Canes are a better opponent for Silovs to regain confidence since they tend spam more lower % shots and have less high end finishers compared to NJ but we'll see.
Does the coaching staff not like VD?
In case anyone wants to take a look, here are the % of shots from defencemen in all situations last year. The teams are listed in descending order by PDO.Except Silovs' problem is that he struggles with low-percentage point shots, which is basically what Carolina spam at opposition nets.

Don't really see anything here, but I might later look at shooting percentage or something like "Shots for by defenceman percentage" that takes into account the proportion of shots surrendered to defencemen.
