“The last podcast, we talked about him being on social media too much. Well, someone called me and said you didn’t go far enough.

Crazy. Ive talked about that being a concern for years and was attacked. Seems like I was correct.

"Well, someone called me and said you didn’t go far enough."

They are making it sound like Pettersson is on OnlyFans.

When JTM was struggling in the 22-23 season I went back and looked at some random videos and there are instances where both seems to be playing as the low man.

Like if you look here it's Petey playing as the high forward receiving the pass (which he then sends to Miller skating out of the zone from behind the play, presumably because he was the low forward). And here's another where Petey and Boeser are forechecking in the o-zone (presumably as a winger would), and Miller comes in from a higher position to pick up the loose puck.

But then there's this clip where Petey is in the C position in the d-zone. And these back and forths were what I saw in the random 20-21 game highlights as well.

Miller talked about this himself and said it was just whoever was the first one back that went down low lol. They clearly didn't put as much thought into who was C/W as we are now hahaha.

While the concerns around Pettersson's play are well founded, the media frenzy about this scrum is maybe the biggest crock of shit out of Vancouver in a long time

Yep, like I said, this whole thing would not even be...a thing.

Most of main stream media (as well as many self-proclaimed independents who are really just extensions of the former) these days are pure brain rot garbagio anyways. You can just tell they are desperately trying to hold on to what's left of their rapidly diminishing power, as average Joes are getting more and more informed about all situations, formulating their own opinions on things.

To be clear, this was from today's practice and not whatever happened on Wednesday.

But, yes, it looks like nothing because the whole thing is nothing. It's just a jumping off point for members of the media and fans to create something to talk about.
Again, when the team is doing well, it frustrates the media in this market because there are no pots to stir. Then all of a sudden you have ppl like, Donnie, Janik Hansen, Boudreau seeking for attentions(last season).

Doesn’t help that a bunch of bandwagoners online will buy into whatever the hell the media are trying to stir

Exactly, like who the hell get their news from radio/cable TV/new site these days? Most ppl don’t even want to pay for Atheltic

Anyways, let's all just relax and forget about the stupid shit media trying to stir up.

We can all just sit back and look at PT's crossed eyes.

what's the deal with sprong?---he put up nice numbers the past 2 seasons and scored a goal on opening night. does tocchet hate him?

his reduced and lack of usage befuddles me---hoping you guys on the scene can shed some light?

Gets lost in the defensive zone and sometimes too individual offensively.

Last game he was in he seemed fine but was taken out anyway

Right now they don't trust him enough to give him premium minutes in the top 6 and likely prefer safer players in the bottom 6.

What a naïve statement.

How many times has this kind of thing happened to star players on any NHL team EVER? In all of the last 50 years? And if you can find any instance trades happen quickly after. Especially when the coach sides with one player over the other.

Anyway, Crosby might be the best example for EP to alter his game.

The penalty kill will be tested, those HoFers' do get the calls in their favour and Pittsburgh will relay on the PP because they will be tired from playing the Oilers the night before.

Very well rested the Canucks should have the edge.

A scheduled win for the Canucks as the Penquins are playing the night before.

There was not a fight, two testosterone fueled competitive athletes battled hard in practice. This is such a non story. The drama is being spun to generate ad revenue for a failing media industry

Today's Practice:
-really good practice today
-worked on some d-zone stuff
-Foote put together a really good video about protecting the ice a little bit better in front of the net; though the players applied it in practice
-all teams have things to work on coming out of training camp
-the extra days off gives them time to work on their coverage game
-when you don't play a lot of games, it gives you more practice time which Tocchet likes
-the league is trending to a lot more motion up top; different coverages being utilized
-no matter what others teams are throwing at the Canucks, they still need to maintain their structure; too much switching
-some new guys from different systems learning how to play within the Canucks system
-d-zone coverage looks a little bit better over the last couple games
-want guys to practice hard against each other

Joshua's Return:
-thinks it's really close
-up to Joshua when he's ready to return
-needs to get medical clearance
-wants to see Joshua 2-on-2 and getting hit from behind a little bit
-next step is to see action around him and behind him

Brannstrom:
-has improved every game his confidence level with his puck
-2 or 3 times last game where he skated out of trouble and didn't just throw the puck off the glass; calls that big
-Foote showed Brannstrom a clip today where a larger player was going towards the net and Brannstrom boxed the guy out; if he keeps doing that, he'll stay in the line-up
-just because you're a smaller guy, doesn't mean you can't box people out
-checked the analytics when Brannstrom played the right side and said he did okay; something they could experiment with

Crosby:
-at the 4 Nations Summit, Canada's GM Doug Armstrong said it's unanimous that Crosby will be the captain
-is obsessed with the game and continue getting better

Couldn't agree more. Seems like a lot of people either have never played sports competitively or have forgotten what it's actually like.

If this happened between Soucy and Blueger it probably wouldn't even get mentioned.
