When the NHL mysteriously vanishes... a new league emerges! The League and all owners have agreed to take on the rosters of all 25 ECHL franchises, as well as 6 randomly chosen Liiga (Finland) teams. All AHL franchises, and prospects that were drafted by a previous NHL franchise, are also absorbed by the new league. Unrestricted Free Agents are also eligible to play. From there, 31 new franchises are established, and a league wide fantasy draft is initiated. Some of the new teams include:
Vancouver Storm (home) and Burnaby Blazers (away)
Philadelphia Pythons (home) and Pittsburgh Pioneers (away)
Detroit Hogs (home) and Kitchener Stealth (away)
Here are all 31 new teams, grouped by Division:
Canada A | Canada B | USA A | USA B |
Burnaby Blazers | Calgary Knights | Boston Brutes | Chicago Royals |
Hamilton Hustlers | Edmonton Outlaws | Detroit Hogs | Colorado Vikings |
