We both have no experience in the NHL.

Probably the first correct thing I've seen you say,

Here's the difference Einstein, I am not the one criticizing NHL players based on absolute ZERO knowledge of the game, that would be you.

The only time I felt confident in 2012 was when Lewis made it 5-1 in game six of the finals. Never felt confident in 2014, in fact the stress during that run probably took years off my life

Feel dirty saying it but once we took out Chicago in 2014, deep down Iknew the cup would be ours. You don’t say such things publicly, but to me it was game set match.

2012, I had no idea wtf was going on from beginning to end.

I felt on both, if we got into the Finals, we would win, but, I felt that way back in 93 as well so who knows lol,

Thing with playoffs is, some times, its not the most talented team that wins, experience plays a large part, while talent is nice and required, all teams that make it have some kind of talent, it's more about forging through the bad bounced and not letting them affect your mindset, on some teams you can almost see the collapse coming from such a bounce etc,

With Sutter's teams, you didn't see that. We will see about Stevens.

dude - in 2012, were you confident the Kings could take out the nucks in 5? If you say you were, you're lying

dude, in 2012, I didn't even think the Kings would make the playoffs! and they almost proved me right...

But if you want to compare this to 2012, tell me who our Justin Williams, Willie Mitchell (maybe Phaneuf), Slava Voynov or Mike Richards is.

In 2014 everyone knew the Kings were going to win the Cup when they beat Chicago. Everyone said the Kings/Hawks series was the Cup final and whoever came out of that, no matter who was representing the East, would win the Cup.

Gutsy win against the AV's the other night. I said the Kings are making the playoffs months ago. Kings have basically taken care of business now and magic number is 1. Kings will probably make playoffs officially through some other team losing a game.

Anyway pretty good season. 96pts on 80GP and shot at 1oo.

One of the weird things is the Sharks with another loss last night still haven't nailed down 2nd in Pacific. Kings are only 1 game behind claiming that.

Nice to see as well Kyle Clifford getting such a key goal on a heads up play. Also nice to see Dustin Brown get the short handed winning goal.

Its uncanny but savvy clubs always seem to contain players who will come up with a huge play like that in a big game. Its interesting that MacKinnon is throwing up a lot of goose eggs through the playoff drive stretch. He hasn't scored in a lot of games in a row now and has been pretty silent in both of the Kings matches.

Quick, I should state, has really been playing good in recent games and very good in the Colorado game.

Looking forward to seeing the Kings in the playoffs again.

Go Kings Go!

Hell just the Hawks game 7 in 2014 had me so up and down felt like I was chugging red bull and vodkas for 24 hours.

Tanner Pearson, Phaneuf, LaDue, Iafallo!

:naughty: ...not nearly enough intangibles. But no one had Dwight Kings setting the Kings WCF scoring record either so eh

Still took 3 OT wins at home to beat the Rangers. That was after having to come back from down 2-0 in the 1st(not a new thing this year) in both Game 1 and 2, and then having to come back from down 2-1 in the 3rd in Game 5. Any and all of those games could've been different.

Would've been horrifying to see what would have happened if the Kings had lost game 5. Remember, the Rangers had multiple power plays during the OT periods and hit the post twice in the OT (so did Toffoli though). Kings were running on fumes. Lombardi said he went into the Kings locker room after each Final's game and everyone was dead. Ice packs everywhere and literally laying there because they were exhausted. Kings lose game 6 and in game 7, who knows. I know Quick is undefeated in game 7's but so is Lundqvist.

Thats how Gretzky described the Islanders after the playoffs back in the 80's, says at that point he realized what it took to win etc.

You're the one defending NHL players with zero experience in the NHL, Newton. Lol.

And the very next year when they missed the playoffs, they decide to party in Vegas, do drugs, and get arrested. Those wacky Kings, always up to shenanigans.

Except for voynov all of these guys had finals experience and or won the cup ,Williams, players gain experience as they go, kopi, drew, brown marty , carter, cliffy, lewis, and even pearson and TT now have been thru the battles of three WCF'S two record setting cup runs , game sevens galore , beat fast teams, high scoring teams big hard checking teams , so I will go out their and say they are all our William Mitchell and Richards ( harder to replace him he is all heart), this is first time all the leaders are playing well unlike 16 when some like brown were struggling, Kopi is in beast mode DD looks like he has recovered from that Chicago game and is showing passion again and Quick is Quick a monster when he needs to be and a great leader his self , if we get in I am looking for another blast of the golden days....... go kings go and let's go hawks

I knew the 2012 team was special going into the playoffs that year. After the Carter trade, they were clearly one of the best teams in the league, sporting absurd GF and GA differentials over the final two months of that season. Everyone slept on them, though, because their overall record was still pretty average.

The first time I actually thought, “they may win it all” was after sweeping St Louis, who was the darling of the league that year. Everyone thought, “well, Vancouver choked, surely STL will beat them.” And then the Kings whooped their ass. I think STL held a lead for less than 20 minutes combined the entire series. Sheer domination.

And yes, once Chicago was out of the way, I knew they’d beat NYR. I loved that series. The NYR fan base is insufferable, and I loved beating them.

FWIW, With Jeff Carter this year:

25 GP
16-5-4
79 GF
53 GA
+26

Just sayin ;)

That's a 118 point team.

It’s funny I was the complete opposite. In 2012 I knew the Kings were going to the finals after dominating Vancouver but 2014 I had no idea what to expect from one game to the next
