Things that make you go "I wonder" if Carter doesn't get hurt where would they be, though I don't think Kopi would feel a need to take as much of the load so maybe the difference in points would not be much greater.

Gravel has the ability to make me appreciate Muz, and that is not easy to do.

Campbell has some serious puck handling skills, he looked like Kopitar protecting the puck from the Yotes player in that first period.
Guy should be a solid back up next year at a low cost .

Forbort played like a man possessed and he's been channeling Willie Mitchell recently. Was roving the offensive zone like as if he'd done it for years tonight, heh. Deserves some props for his play lately.

Gravel...did not have a good night. Frankly I'm disappointed. Was about the only player on the roster tonight that made me shake my head more than once.

Maybe thats why Doughty played almost 30 min.

Not ideal for a back to back though probably just warming him up for the playoffs, heh.

And I take that back...Kempe made me shake my head a few times as well. REALLY need him to pick it up. Maybe he needs to scrum it up to get emotionally engaged so tomorrow will be good for him.

Jeez Carter has 13 goals and 17 points in 17 games since returning? That's incredible. Too bad he missed 75% of the season.

Oh, and re: Kuemper, I think one of the sneaky theories behind the trade was that he'd be used by AZ to beat some of the opponents we'd be racing as well, though of course he got sick and stuff. (and Raanta returned as well)

Agree he had a less than stellar game, but not completely unexpected given the guy hasn’t gotten a game in how many months?

Not disagreeing, but Everyone on our D is soft except for Phaneuf.

Depends on what you mean imo. Folin's no instigator, but he's been a monster, even more than I had hoped. Martinez is gritty as hell, so's Drew. Muzzin at least throws some hits even if he's a big teddy bear. Forbort has dropped the gloves at least, but he's probably in that no man's land that Gravel is in, where they don't really hit, don't make life hard, and get blown up too frequently. The other guys lay the lumber more than they'll get credit for, it's just that Phaneuf is a next level asshole like Mitchell used to be.

I don't think Folin is soft, and most of the d is "harder" than Gravel. he's ok in his role but he's softer then all the other d

Folin is a hunter, it's fun to watch. Excellent at tracking and challenging players gaining the zone, maybe even better than Drew at that since he has size, reach, and anger too. Funny watching forwards looking for a way around him then bailing when they realize how screwed they are.

Add in the start of the season before he was injured and you get an even more impressive 15-5-3. It's night and day with him in.

117 pt pace.

It's almost as if a 60-pt. center is a big deal on a shallow C team!

Dude is a monster, missed him so much. Especially since when he was gone, if Kopitar, Brown, Doughty didn't score, we were pretty boned. Even coming up on 90 points and one of the best GAs in the league we're hard pressed to make the playoffs, adding 20-30 more goals is massive and the kind of deadline deal teams dream of. He's a bigger add than anyone else was (HM to Evander Kane though).

Makes you wonder if Kopitar might have even more points if he had Carter on the power play all season.

Tommorrow's game is now basically for the playoffs. If the Kings win, they are 4 points up with just 4 games left the for the Ducks. If the Ducks then went 4-0, the Kings would have to go 2-1 to get the spot. If much more likely the Ducks went 3-1 then Kings would only need to go 1-2 to get the spot.

However if the Kings lose then the Ducks control their own destiny whereas the Kings would need help. Tomorrow is the game of the year.

I agree to secure 3rd place, but I think if the kings lose tomorrow they still have a very high chance as long as they beat Colorado. They must however win at least 1 of the 2.
