Fly
People act like this was an isolated incident too.

I miss have having McSorley, he would of taken care of it as soon as the Doughty incident happen. Instead we have to worry about chicken wing/flying elbows Tkachuk when we play Calgary. If MacDermid or Clifford just drops the gloves and starts throwing with the kid, the crap would stop.

It's time for Doughty shut up and play up.

Drew looked a lot less like a punk bitch there than Tkachuk did.

Tkachuk was seeking him all shift and when drew embarrassed him he went for the chicken wing then slashed Drew as if he owed him something. Drew whacked him back and gave him a shot, while Tkachuk as always waited for striped intervention before acting tough.

DD just has too much to say recently. Talking like the man is all good while you are the man. When you and your team has been bad it's never cool to call other players bad.

But he's only said anything in that one interview. And he didn't say they were bad players. He didn't even say Tkachuk was a bad player, just that no one likes him and respects him(no way to even verify that).

Since it sounds like you're genuinely asking, I'll indulge. He's thrown no less than three dangerous elbows at Kings in his short time in the league, and tried to make up for it by jumping Jake Muzzin. He throws spears over boundaries and out of play. He waits for refs to intervene, then throws blows. It's not that he's a chippy ******* like Drew, it's the habitual line crossing with no respect for others AND putting the refs/linesmen in harms way by starting **** when they intervene instead of before.

Now in his defense Flames fans suggest he's mostly cleaned it up this year so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt moving forward but last night didn't do anything to dispel my old thoughts by taking several runs at Drew and finally getting frustrated at the missed hit and throwing out his elbow. That's similar to the first incident where they were actually just battling really hard together, which was great to watch, then Tkachuk just got annoyed and got dirty. Plus, his fight card is picking up some real cred. And that's not to say he's not a hell of an actual hockey player. But his cowardly acts rub me the wrong way and anyone on this particular board knows how I feel about the rats on Nashville, he's very much like those guys right now minus the diving (thankfully).
Thank you for explaining. I had heard but was not aware of the laundry list of people he has taken out.
That being said he is not a huge guy so why hasn't he been targeted by other teams? Everyone said his Dad taught him to play a certain way and he appears headed for a huge contract but I guess there is the respect factor that is missing in his DNA towards some players. Is this the new NHL where the young guys could care less?

Guys like Tkachuk remind me of players who were just bad people like Ulf Samuelsson who would go out of their way to injure other players. There was a certain part of me that enjoyed it when Tie Domi sucker punched him although the reality was that it could have hurt him badly and nobody wants to see that. There were a lot of players that privately cheered that punch. Samuelsson was the scumbag that kneed Cam Neely and almost ruined his career.

Domi got 8 games back then. Nowadays, he would probably get a massive suspension.

Everyone has said he has toned it down this season. I guess after the playoffs we will know, but some of it might be he is growing up. I go back and forth about teenagers in the NHL but I guess some of this comes with the territory when you have 18 and 19 year olds playing against men.
