That was a very exciting way to end it, I do think the Kings went on cruise control a couple of times in that game but the Kings were also victims of a horrible potentially game changing mistake by the referee and still overcame it and earned a quality win on the road over a hot team. The Flyers have a really good team, we were having trouble with the Vinny/Schenn/Simmonds line but were somehow able to keep them off the score sheet. I think that is a team that could do some damage in the playoffs, they are very highly skilled.

As for the Kings, again it seems like for the first time all year everyone is comfortable in their roles. Carter looks worlds better at center and with more skilled (albeit younger) linemates his production is going to keep picking up with more capable linemates than he has had all season. King-Stoll-Brown had a really solid game, the fourth line again looked really good, I know I bag on Richards alot, but he is going to dominate pretty much every other fourth line center in the league, Lewis is always going to consistently play his role and if Clifford can keep this level of play up that line is going to be an asset much the way the fourth line was in 2012.

Carter's burst of speed to blow by the defender and set-up the 2 on 1 with Pearson was incredible, we all know Carter can fly, but that was really turning on the after-burners. Just wish he had fired the puck rather than try and pass, but that was an incredible individual effort.

I don't understand the boooing of these guys. They both committed to being Flyers and were traded within a year of signing extensions.

I could understand if these guys pulled a Blake or a Smyth, but it was management who traded them before their long contracts kicked in.

Then again, I have no idea why Ilya Kovalchuk was so hated at Staples Center.

Yep. It's like i said in the GDT, gutsy road performance against a hot team that needed the points to gut out a victory. Take our points and skip town while killing Philly's win streak, I'll take it for that robbery in our barn earlier this year. Great first 40 minutes, not so much last 20--uncharacteristically sloppy but you have to give some of that credit to the Flyers for forcing turnovers and not being scared to play turnover/transition hockey too.

Plus, all the Flyer fan tears on Twitter are so worth it.

If I had a team in the east it would be the flyers, but good god is everything a conspiracy on the internet.

Hope they don't let down tomorrow vs. the Caps!

The Flyers definitely didn't give up. I'd say the real big moment, despite the 3rd, was killing that 4on3/5on3. They could have easily given up a goal there, have the game tied or worse if the Flyers got a couple PP goals.

I imagine Jones will get the start. They're doing the 3 in 4 trip and giving Quick an extra day would be great for against Pittsburgh.

We "all" have to know by now Quick isn't great in a B2B.

I always find it funny when **** is going rough for the opposing team and their fans have to say, "Well, at least those bandwagon fans in LA can stick around after a win!" We really are among the most hated teams on here and I love it.

it's Philly Herby, common sense left the fan bases of all their teams decades ago

Virtually every former Philadelphia star athlete is booed unless they were universally beloved (guys like Gagne, Iverson, Dawkins, etc.). Not terribly different than McNabb or Pat Burrell. They get their montage during the first commercial time out, and move on. Just how it works in Philly. You have to remember that a fair number of people in this city booed Ryan Howard when his foot exploded making the last out of the season. My favorite such disposition is Jayson Werth.

Martinez is even better in person.
