Gm #70 - 3/20/14, KINGS defeat CAPITALS, 2-1 in ShootOut !

Kopitar getting to play with a winger that can keep up with him and dish passes as well as take them and score is unreal.

How has Regher been this season? His footspeed looked awful on that OT penalty.

Stoll is not going to wow anyone, and he has the same shortcomings he has had his entire career, but Jarret Stoll gets that puck in deep tonight and protects the one goal lead and that is pretty important with our style of play. Plus, Stoll would likely be playing with Jeff Carter which is a major major improvement over anyone he had during his days as a 2nd line center.

It's actually insane, Stoll has been so much smarter and he's very hard working. He's been a lot better.

Just calling it like I see it, it's not as if Stoll has set the world on fire, but how much longer can Sutter keep with Richards in a top 6 role. Neither one is scoring, but Stoll atleast looks like he has a pulse.

And hey, I was very happy when the Kings acquired Mike Richards, but right now that guy is nowhere to be found. That pass tonight, in that game situation should never ever happen.

I have no idea where this dudes game has gone! Aside from our cup run he's been MIA for the past year and a half! Spurts of good games and then pretty much disappears for a loooong time. We're not winning nothing if we don't get the old Richie back! Kopi cannot do it by himself down the middle and we know what we gettin with the other two centers!

Stoll also has the third most minor penalties on the team while having a long history of taking dumb penalties. If you give him more minutes while playing against tougher competition, he's going to live in the box. Richards has been poor, no doubt, but Stoll is not the answer.
 
I wonder how weird it was for DL to trade for Gaborik, he's not Canadian or American. Uncharted territory haha.

I wonder if he will finally draft any swedes this draft, highly doubt it but maybe there's a first time for it.
 
Still so amazing the Kings got Gaborik for Frattin with no overpayment. I can't see Frattin ever having this kind of an impact, even with 1st line minutes.

Stoll has 44 PM(total) and is tied for Seventh on the team.

Richards hasn't taken many PM, cause he doesn't hit anyone, also doesn't play very good Defense anymore.

Stoll is third on the team in hits.....THIRD.

(EDIT) Oh I see you said (minor PM), Still Muzzin and Drew are the big offenders in that category.

Still an overblown statement, In Stoll's last 20 games played, he has taken only Four Minor's.

For prospective, Kopitar has taken Two minor's in the last 20 Games.....So we seriously going to complain about Stoll's ?

Stoll is not the solution for 2nd line Center, But Mike Richards is not the answer (right now) either. At least Stoll will not hurt the Kings on the Defensive side of the puck. Stoll will also skate and keep up with Carter.

That's simply not true.

Richards was our best forward in last years playoffs, and if it wasn't for Kopitar's disappearing act (not to mention Brown's- both were hot poop) we might actually have had a chance against Chicago.

Richards has been doing his 2013-playoffs Kopitar impression and I agree, it's simply not good enough and we're not winning anything with that kind of game. I would start worrying if this play carries over into the playoffs. That's where he's supposed to make an impact, which he actually had in 2012 and 2013.

Just my opinion.
 
Dean needs to re-sign Gaborik. After winning the Cup that should be his next priority. Dude has been money so far and has let Kopi be free. Love it.
