The biggest issue right now is how to maximize Jeff Carter, because it's not going to happen with his current linemates. King and Richards could form a nice start to a bottom six line, but top 6, not a chance. Sutter is totally wasting one of his elite talents by having him with those two.

I was previously against it but maybe moving Carter back to C is the way to go, let him center Toffoli (for sure) and then either Brown or Pearson on the left wing. That is assuming Sutter will never have him with Kopitar and Gaborik five on five.

Doughty/RR/Mitchell all have to play better as well, the breakouts were slow (like all season long) and they are not generating offense.

Slava is a black hole right now, that has to change(51 games now, no goal).

The Kings are going no where if Drew Doughty doesn't turn his production and game around.

Pearson-Carter-Toffoli? None of them are really play makers. But very talented.

I think Pearson-Stoll-Carter would be better chemistry.

I think either of them would be better than King-Richards-Carter right now, but I think Pearson-Stoll-Carter would be the best all around pick

How ironic would that be to see Stoll as the second line center again.

At least you know Stoll will give 100% and not cost the Kings in their own end.

Bonus points for Pearson if he says his shootout move is dumping it in the corner just like Kopi.

I dunno Toffoli and Carter seemed to have a little something going on in the playoffs last season.

Richards will never be a healthy scratch though, so I don't expect to see it.

If Richards and Brown wake up in the playoffs then this team is a big contender. If not, not so much. Too many grind games. Not too worried about doughtys slump.

This will never get old to me

Quick's reaction said it all.

Amen. Love seeing Quick pumped up. He earned it. Glad to see him feeling better, too. You knew he was going to bounce back big. He embraces the challenge.

That Sutter/Payne fist bump might be my favorite moment of the season.

Seriously. You could feel the relief.

I would make Doughty sit and watch film of Duncan Keith wrist shots for the next 100 hours.

Copied this from the GDT because yeah. Dude needs to get out of his own way right now.

DUNCAN KEITH, DREW. DUNCAN KEITH.

Also I am thrilled with Tanner Pearson and I say a million hail marys for being so, so wrong about him. Kid is an engine and is looking bullish along the boards. I don't know how it finally clicked with him, but my goodness.

Quick does the big fist pump and then in the interview... subdued. Team wins. Still chasing Rogie because the shootout doesn't count to him. :D Credits the team. Usual Quick.

Stoll is not a second line center, period

I think right now you have to say he is the Kings best option there, unless they want to move Carter off the wing. Richards for whatever reason is just a disaster out there, that pass tonight was just so bad on so many levels it's shocking to see a player with almost a decade of NHL experience who has won every championship known to man make that pass.

Stoll is not going to wow anyone, and he has the same shortcomings he has had his entire career, but Jarret Stoll gets that puck in deep tonight and protects the one goal lead and that is pretty important with our style of play. Plus, Stoll would likely be playing with Jeff Carter which is a major major improvement over anyone he had during his days as a 2nd line center.

Williams/Kopitar/Gaborik
King/Stoll/Brown
Pearson/Richards/Carter
Nolan/Lewis/Toffoli

Your welcome.

Jake Muzzin had Five hits tonight. Good game

I thought Muzzin played terrific. Decisive and physical, with a few really sneaky breakout passes. I think I joked about it in the GDT, but I said maybe we just bench him every third game :P

As an aside, Kuznetsov is really a solid player. I think I often get so caught up in Ovy-Backstrom-Green that I forget about guys like him and Johansson and even Brouwer. That team has a solid roster.

Pretty ironic for Stoll, Although he deserves any good fortune for him.

Stoll has worked his butt off the last two years, and played hard.
