Yeah.. Edmonton versus Vancouver is basically a cripple fight.

Chiarelli crippled Edmonton while Jimbo crippled us.

Amazing.

The Orca
Benning extended.
Losing Toffoli, Tanev, and Markstrom for zero return.

Those are the three things from the last couple of years that just really really piss me off. The fans wanted none of the three, yet here we are.

(No, having the Orca on the jersey is not the end of the world, but it’s the constant reminder that the fans are not heard.)
Lets not forget we gave up assets for a few games of Toffoli.

Not Sportsnet radio yet but TSN radio apparently:

"If you have Quinn Hughes & Elias Pettersson in the final year of their entry level contracts, and this is the roster that you ice... that is managerial malpractice."- JD Burke

Many were predicting an outcome similar to the one the team is now experiencing way back when Beagle and Roussel were signed. Like why was the team paying a bunch of guys projected to be 4th liners by 2021 3 million dollars a season?

If we go on our little Canadian tour and lose almost every game...FA is going to act.

We are this close to becoming the pun of every Canadian joke. The laffing stock, the red headed step child...We're on pace to finish below Ottawa & Edmonton

Naw Aquaman will snap if we lose badly to Ottawa this up coming home stand.

Bye bye Benning. Who is good though, that will work for Aqua? We don’t want Chia Pet, or craperolla like that. Too bad we didn’t keep Bracket.

nobody wants to work for aquamn clear as day. even if benning gets fired and he probaly will be. who is avaliable? that can turn this team around?

The play of Hughes has really surprised me. His play in his own zone has been really poor.

Sens series is important. The schedule after that is Jets three times, Habs twice, Leafs 3 times, and Flames four times. There are no multi-days off either. Nucks depth sucks.

It's obvious to me that Pettersson and Hughes are just trying to do too much on their own. Maybe they're feeling the pressure of the loss of so many key leaders in the off-season; or the fact that they know in their hearts that there really isn't anyone else in the lineup that can get it done right now.

But this is the point where some of the veteran players, who are the highest paid guys on the team, should be able to step up. But of course they can't. Most of them have underachieved since the day Benning signed them to bloated contracts. Heck, their highest paid forward can't even get off the taxi squad right now.

So the 'age gap thing' is doing in the Canucks right now......some great young players who are squeezing the sticks; and aging veterans who have to be weeded out and replaced before this team will ever be competitive.

This must be what the last 10 years of being an Oilers fan feels like (or the Duchene/O'Reilly Avs fans). All the talent is seemingly there with some fleeting success but something just feels "off". Need to fire Benning ASAP to salvage this core.

The situation in Vancouver is bad; but with the Oilers it might actually be worse. Draisaitl and McDavid are two of the best players on the planet....surrounded by a bunch of flotsam and jetsam......Now that would be depressing, wasting the best years of talent like that.

You maybe start getting concerned that Hughes and Pettersson may eventually hold off on any extentions and request trades if this frustration continues. Benning has done f*** all to better the team while they been here.
Not gonna bother reading past here. How about the 2 of them start playing like elite players before anyone starts giving a f*** about their extensions ???
Hughes is literally playing like one of those guys who you put in the line-up to help the PP, but have to shield on the 3rd pairing at ES.
Nice going to some here on how it doesn't really matter who we have in net, because we have the best goalie coach in hockey. Maybe we can just dress Clark himself next game (yeah I know its not really the goalies fault). /rant

And both those idiots somehow beat us in 2011. Cruel cruel fate.

That is just the ultimate stab in the face to the fanbase.

These two completely proven to be inept GMs somehow took a Boston team to a victory that yes, a full decade later, I still do not think was completely deserved. This team was a powerhouse in 2011 and Boston got a tad lucky to win in 7 - I don't recall ever hearing people seriously say we were lucky to last to 7 games unlike other matchups.

To recompense an absolutely crippling finals loss, followed by the international embarrassment of a city rioting and burning down buildings and cars while the winning city celebrated with fanfare and joy with almost an entire decade of mediocrity through sheer mismanagement by the GM, that began as a part of the Canucks' dismantlement in 2011, to now completely steering the tank through the siege of Leningrad.

It's just almost mouth-gapingly unbelievable how bad this team has been through all the circumstances since that Cup finals loss.

Want more facts to add to the sting? This team has been the closest of any team to winning the Cup - without actually winning it. This team is also tied with Buffalo for the longest to have played without a single Cup to show for - ever.

I think fans are just tired of even being angry. We absolutely require an owner who demands better, as the fanbase has rewarded this team with merchandise purchasing, advertising opportunities and of course attending the games at sky high prices.

This is not a team that deserves the ineptitude of the GM and management staff, nor the laziness/indecisiveness of the owner to do anything to correct it.

f***ing fire Benning already.

While not at the same level as Mcdavid or Draisatl, watching Petey and Hughes waste their prime here isn't easy to stomach either. Or Horvat for that matter, guy tries so hard but there's only so much he can do.
