Post-Game Talk: GM 64 | Canadiens def. Canucks | 4-2 (Hronek, EP40) | Merde.

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
I have only watched about half of this game so far, but honestly the Canucks seem to be getting as many chances, if not more, as Montreal. They just can't get the puck across the line.

But the game was effectively over a long time ago. I don't know why you wouldn't take out Lankinen and save him for tomorrow?

Curious... For which coach is this roster built for?

I really think Allvin wanted to move on from Boeser, Suter and Forbort at the TDL, but may have been blocked by ownership.

Running up the white flag on the season at the TDL, just wasn't in the cards. In another 10-games or so, it'll basically be 'official'.

Tocchet gets a pass from me. Look at our roster construction. This is all Allvin’s fault.

This is all Allvin. He’s been mostly bad than good. Shitty UFA signings that we have to dump assets for and rolling into the season with a light roster to improve later only to wait for the longest possible time and an injury to Hughes. And then standing pat at the TDL accruing cap space for f*** ALL.

His only good moves so far have been signing Lankinen and trading for Hronek. Even the initial Horvat trade was mid ASF.
Agreed. He went from two top 10 scoring centers to zero.

One Norris winning defenceman to zero.

One Vezina finalist goaltender to zero.

I understand not liking his style of dump and chase hockey, but he is not to blame for the Canucks disaster of a season.

You can see the Canadians are a really 'bad' defensive team. It's one thing to get throttled by a team like Dallas that can lock it down.

But being blanked by a team like Montreal--has to be a new low.

We are not doing this again.

People tried to place all of Benning's failures on Aquilini too.

The #1 thing that everyone said when Rutherford was brought in is that he was not going to bend the knee to Aquilini, nor would he be asked to, because he had such a strong track record.

The failures of this management group are theirs alone to bear. There is absolutely nothing to suggest they've been given anything but complete autonomy.

The fan base is also infinitely more patient than it used to be in the 2000s. Cheering guys who are playing like garbage to encourage them, constantly bringing the energy to the games, and almost never booing the team when playing like crap.

Those teams were so, so much better, but the fans at the games were way more impatient. Somewhat surprising, and I'm surprised the goodwill has lasted so long despite so much ineptitude.

petterson and boeser were better players when they were younger

they didnt develop, they've regressed and are slower.
