guess that's what it felt like playing against sutterpuck in the past few years

So is Blake still done dealing ? Lol we need Carter back man like now ! I was going to rant about the terrible performance but I forgot about all that mileage and traveling and the 4 in 6. They looked dead all night

Yeah, I had a feeling when they didn't score in the 1st, that it was all downhill from there. You could tell they were gassed. Better recover before Saturday.

Yep. All optimism flushed.

**** this empty tank nonsense. Tank was empty in Winnipeg. Dallas played last night.

Trash effort

Well, I'm glad one game can set the tone for the whole season for you then.

Dallas played 30 minutes across town. The Kings just crossed thousands of miles, country borders, and time zones.

It's not an 'excuse,' but more than one of us saw this coming, they just went flat after a good first and it was clear guys were laboring.

Dallas played last night.

This was a pathetic performance and there is zero excuse.

:nopity:I saw plenty of encouraging stuff on this road trip. This game was the aberration, not the example.

Collision with Wingels. He has hardly moved on the ice since. Rarely doing anything but hanging in the slot. Definitely hardly joining the rush or chasing pucks in the corner. Notice how much more Forbort is has to skate for him.

You mention good things. And there were good things in Winnipeg, but this game was a complete abomination and using fatigue as an excuse vs a team that played last night is a pretty awful take, IMO.

Haven’t really seen much from Nate Thompson and he was not put in a spot to succeed tonight if they expected him to play an offensive role tonight. He is probably the odd man out when Carter returns.

And atleast we are probably seeing the end of Kyle Clifford’s run in LA, he can’t even crack the lineup now imagine when we are healthy.

Most players I've read actually prefer playing the second night of the back to back. Their legs are looser or whatever.

There were many good things. Not just in Winnipeg. Even in losses at TBL, Pittsburgh. This was the game where they actually just fell flat on their faces. B2B isn't a big deal especially given they spent the whole night in the Ducks zone. 4 in 6 across the damn country is. It's not an excuse and you play the hand you're dealt, I'm just saying plenty of us saw this performance coming. Maybe it would have been different if they capitalized early but they wasted too much energy chasing bouncing pucks and near-missing too many plays and ended up chasing the game when they were clearly already fatigued. I mean, if I can't discuss the 'why,' what are we doing here.

Lines were a mess, that's for sure. Carter can't return soon enough. It's almost more painful that he's so close. Lewis too.

Edit. 8 Games. 14 days. About 8000 miles. Crossed every time zone and back again for the 9th game in 16 days. Yeah, I get tired after one flight, never mind playing the top teams in the NHL. Ripe for a letdown game and it happened. Let's see how they respond on Sat, pretty much a must-win. Much more favorable schedule coming up that they HAVE to take advantage of, including vs. teams they're in the chase with, and teams out of the playoffs. This is the big stretch. We've stayed afloat so far. Playoffs start now.
