I still can’t believe people objected to that deal. Phaneuf has been the dman this team desperately needed to the top 4.

He definitely showed the slow feet in his own zone often tonight when pressured hard by the fast Jets forwards, but the young defenseman on this team have faster feet but don't have the experience to remain calm and use their smarts when pressured so they give it up anyways while being Charmin soft.

I've been banging the drum about how he makes the 2nd PP unit better but JFC I didn't think they would look like the Red Army team like they did tonight. If the 1st unit can pull their head out, oh boy.

This is one where I can't throw a wet blanket over it.

Beat a team 10 points ahead of you in the standings at the tail end of a long road trip in a back-to-back situation: with your back-up goalie.

I'm going to post this as their best win of the season, especially since they didn't fold after that garbage 1st period. That's the kind of shit I need to see from this team to start believing in them as opposed to whooping up on Buffalo and Arizona.

Hope they can take care of business at home now.
