Guys, the Kings aren't getting anything for Carter. The market is completely flooded with legit top 6 options who don't have a bad contract for three more years. We are likely doomed on this one, I hope I'm wrong but we will probably have a 35-40 point player on the books for $5m plus the next 3 seasons.

Someone would take a chance on Carter for a 7th or future considerations if Blake really just wanted to be rid of him.

In a way, it's nice to see Kopitar break his stick over the net(yet again), and Carter come close to swinging. It does show that there is frustration there. They are alive. It's hidden deep down somewhere, but there's a hint of pride.

Thses highly paid players own the franchise. It's all on them.

I don't see it that way, if we're honest, this team isn't competing in the next 2-3 years minimum, so whether they are on the hook for that deal or not makes no difference.

Ultimately I think we are nearing the whatever you can get for him stage. I just don't see the upside in keeping him around.

The one upside is Carter could easily retire, probably not after this season but after 2020 or 2021 is possible.

Eh, reminds me more of a kid who says sorry because he got caught rather than he's genuinely sorry.

Carter to Ottawa is Melnyk’s wet dream. Helps them get to the floor while only being paid a fraction of his cap hit.

Maybe Carter will do the Kings a favor and retire. This team is worse with him in the lineup. The recapture penalty may be worth not having to see him coast out there.

I was worried for a hot second that they were really going to push for the playoffs. Good thing they're back to normal.

The way the Blues are playing, they knocked all the better sucking teams down 2 spots. Losing the last 3 ended any hope of getting there. Even the Hawks lost ground and they won 7 straight. Now , it's just playing the year out.
