It's a really smart game plan because once you back the forecheckers off with making them pay attention to cherry pickers then you open up space in your own zone for space and speed. Forecheckers start taking away that space? Flip it out to the neutral and create a footrace. Forecheckers backing off? Let guys circle back to your own zone and build speed to carry out. Being faster to spots means Pens just take the open ice wherever it may be.

They're not wrong. We've replaced practically any slug in our lineup with speed. Iafallo. Kempe. Mitchell. And we're still missing Carter and Lewis. That's why I laugh when people meme it up with the Kings are a big slow team cliche. We've been quick this year, probably the fastest Pacific team now top to bottom (minus Vegas, they don't count :P)

I don’t know man the defense is a total disaster.

I think forwards are ok when everyone’s back. But defense an issue.

I mean it wasn't stellar and no one wants to play pond hockey with the Pens but we went back at them generating our own solid chances as well and came out even.
 
DD only 6:14. The Dion impact already? Drew needs to use his energy if his minutes are going to be less.

There really is not any team in the NHL that has a defense that looks like the 2012-2014 Kings. Maybe Nashville, but that's it.

I remind myself constantly that the Kings Cup teams had possible the best defense ever created from the Kings. Scale back my expectations of what a good defense looks like.
 
The Pens game is as such that it sucks when their players disappear from the screen. If you could always see all of their players you would understand their strategy more
 
Well I switched over to Buffalo vs Ottawa and while Gabby was on the ice Buffalo scored.He just looks slow.​
