I am just loving Frank. See him everywhere. Back checking like crazy. In front of the net. Much more active than he was his first 10 games. He is trending for sure.
I agree, has completely neutralized McDavid or Draisaitl on a backcheck multiple times. The entire third line has been very good IMO.

Afternoon start: Check!
Motivated opponent (who lost yesterday): Check!
Roflstomped rival yesterday: Check!
Charlie in net after a long break: Check!

Everything is set for an absolute stinker today. My only bet today is on the over/under for how many minutes I watch before turning it off in disgust. No panic here; you can't win them all. But I'd wouldn't be surprised if they are sluggish today...
Ignore the moron that said the above. This is not the normal Capitals team. This team is different...

hes looking like an absolute steal
He wasn’t what he is now but I wouldn’t say he hadn’t clicked completely. He went 22+26 in 69 (nice) games the season the Blackhawks non-tendered him. Pretty ridiculous to just walk away from a 50-point player who was a former top 3 pick and just 23/24 at the time.

But hey, the Blackhawks are a dogshit organization that deserves nothing but misery so I’ll take it.

They might have done it to make sure they landed Bedard.

At game today. First time in 2 years in person - picked a good one. Oil taking long stretches off from competing in the neutral zone or bearing down on D. Basically doing everything they can to mimic the 80s teams, but without the Cups.

That said - we’re hard to play against. So connected, so much trust between the players, and so much puck support. The pill moves so fast and unless you’re playing committed D, our collective effort Will expose you

Forgot to add the obligatory: Hail Carbs

Sure, but just re-sign him and trade him if that’s the case. He signed a one-year deal with Washington so it wasn’t like he had people banging down his door. Or trade him before season’s end at the deadline if you know you’re going to tank the next season. Just piss poor asset management. The Blackhawks went too far in stripping it down to the bone and are paying the price for it now.

Also, we have a very good coaching staff!

50 years of Washington Capitols...I remember when they drafted Greg Joly 1st overall in 1974...I went to school with his sister Shawn and was excited for them but that first Caps team wasn't afforded much in the way of talent and skill in ghe Expansion Draft then and were miserable and to make makers worse Philly was able to steal away the 1st choice next year(1975)and turned it into Mel Bridgeman...as a closet Caps fan all those years it was great to see them Win a Stanley Cup and see the Grate8 inch ever so close to the use to be great 99...hope the Caps Win another this year...as a fan in Canada I've watched more Caps games this last 3-4 months then I have in quite awhile all because of Ovie and PLD and Wilson,Chychrun,Carlsson,Sandin,Protas,Strome...man they have talent and skill wish Backstrom could come back...and the cupboard is brimming with talent...Miroshnichenko,Leonard,other Hutson,Kristall,Parascak the other Protas,Chesley and Muggli...they are going to continue to be good maybe Grate8!!!

Was listening to this one on radio. What they did yesterday to Pittsburgh was impressive, but to bury Edmonton in just a few minutes is something else.

Of course Ovechkin is still the best shooter in the league, he’s made that clear this season. Imagine having a 89 MPH wrist shot, that’s just absurd.
