McKeown? Ahh no.McKeown, 22, is now in his third professional season, and he posted three points (1g, 2a) in nine games with the Charlotte Checkers prior to his recall earlier this week. In 2016-17, he recorded 11 points (1g, 10a) with the Checkers, and his three assists in five Calder Cup playoff games was top among team defensemen.
I'm confused. Are you saying he is good or isn't ?

Bernstein article is borderline stupid with the "what if?" since you can do that with pretty much every team that doesn't win the Cup and especially when talking about draft picks. Since there is no way of knowing who the Kings would have picked, we might as well go back through the last ten drafts and dream about a good player taken after a bad pick that could be riding shotgun with Kopitar.

In regards to not blaming Blake, that's fine and all but he can't be praised while also shouldering no blame at the same time. I don't like Blake but I'm fine with how they didn't make any crazy moves and went with the "how will the coaching change impact the core" plan; however, he is going to start earning praise/criticism with this trade deadline and beyond.

Going to be a blown opportunity to pick up assets if they sit pat and still miss the playoffs. Will be even worse if he pulls another Mitchell trade and they still miss or just get bounced in the first round. Purcell for Halpern comes to mind.

This roster was Blakes decision and was part of the Lombardi staff since 2014.Of course he is held responsible. You act as if Lombardi was fire in the middle of the season.Blake also hired Stevens as head coach which was a shocking choice.

i agree that being upset about missing karlsson for forbort isn't something worth crying over, but losing out on all those top quality young NHL players for what was obviously a dumb mortgage in lucic was really bad

one miss is a miss, two deserves some questions, 3, 4, 5 you've created a pattern and it's worth being upset over. i mean obviously its what cost him his job, but we're allowed to be upset about it

all that said, if this doesn't turn around tomorrow and stay righted, you do need to pick up assets because there's no saving it. we've been grasping at the hopes for years now and it's not happening. this team can't get it done. maybe the core can, but not the team as a whole.

man that was a really bad pivot by ladue when aho tried to chip it by him

nice to see he caught up even though he f***ed it up

not a fair comparison

there were active choices made to put the team in this position, it wasn't a wing and a prayer

I'm saying there's no way to know that they would be a contender with whoever they would've picked in 2015 and 2016, and kept Miller, and a guy that has barely played in the NHL. The Canes aren't a contender. The Bruins hadn't been a contender the last couple years. The Islanders aren't a contender. The Jets might be a contender, but that's more to do with winning the lottery than Connor.

Stevens was not a shocking choice.

You seem to think this team just needs two pieces to really contend, yet they don't have the assets to pick up those pieces without negating the impact of a potential trade unless they move top prospects and picks which nobody wants to see.

I dislike Blake, but what was your expectation of him as far as the roster goes?

To bad Quick and team was not ready to start the game again, What is that like 45 games of forgetting to start the game.

So what? Montreal signed Price for eternity for a ton of money, they have no choice.

That's not the point, at all. He's sure as hell been playing like a #1 as of late, just can't carry that team since it's so bad.

Goalies are prone to long cold stretches at some point in their career unless they're Roy/Hasek/Brodeur. We've been lucky to avoid a prolonged one until now
