News/Notes:
  • Dustin Brown has been suspended for 1 game for kneeing Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev.br own was fined earlier this year for boarding Justin Schultz.
  • Trevor Lewis was reevaluated in Los Angeles. Head Coach John Stevens says he's not day-to-day, but he's not out long term.
  • Jonathan Quick was the first goalie off, so it looks like he'll start against the Hurricanes. Quick stopped 13 of 14 shots after replacing Darcy Kuemper in the Kings loss in Tampa Bay on Saturday. Quick had his fair share of struggles in late-January, but has now stopped 48 of 50 shots (.960 SV%) in his last two outings. In his first start vs. the Hurricanes, Quick stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 3-2 OT win in early-December.
  • Cam Ward is expected to start tonight. Ward stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Avalanche on Saturday. He snapped a brief two-game losing skid and is now 4-1-1 with a 1.99 GAA, .931 SV% and one shutout in his last sixth start. The veteran comes into Tuesday’s game vs. the Kings at 8-3-2 with a 2.20 GAA and .923 SV% at PNC Arena this season.

If Quick doesnt give up a goal on the first 5 shots then the game is ours.

Gonna see massive shot volume tonight. Gonna be a tough game, need Quick to hold down the fort because no Lewis, Brown, Carter is a lot of skill and vet experience out of the lineup. That's basically one key player from each line. Ugh.

Gaborik can't be on a line with Kempe, he'll ruin everything
looking at the current roster, wow this team is bad lol

Look I'm all happy that the kids and *cough, choke* Andreoff are doing well, but we really need Pearson and Toffoli to show up and play strong games.

Big game tonight i expect 25 + mins from Kopitar and 30 + mins from Drew Please one of Pearson Toffoli Gaborik step the F up and contribute Bottom 6 keep up the solid work Score first and often Go kings go

The Canes were one of my sleeper picks for this year. Still thinking they'll have a strong second half though if they get better than average goaltending from Ward. Darling tanked their first half somewhat, big time disappointment signing. If LA brings the effort they did in the Tampa game and gets out of the first five mins tied, I like their chances.

Not sure why Amadio and Brodz are getting split up, they seem to have some chemistry. Mitchell is effective away from the puck when he's not taking penalties, but he's a complete island on offense. Never seems to cycle, complete passes, take shots. He's an anomaly.
