So how many of those players you mentioned are considered to be in the same level of Doughty, Matthews, MacKinnon, Tavares, Laine, or Eichel. Im hoping for higher probability and better odds for a game changer since we had such a crappy start.

Seems like they’ve been playing better since Carter has been out of the lineup.

Just an opinion but removing layers of comfort and safety has forced guys to think differently. Not just Carter, but Muzzin, Pearson, etc.

Clifford has been a fine 4th liner this entire time. When everyone sucks, he doesn't get ripped on. When the team is in contention and he misses a chance, he's a bum and they need to find a 20 goal scorer for LW4.

Speaking of the 4th line, Wagner has been good for a nice stretch here. Reminds me of the start of the year when he was getting a breakaway every game but now he's finishing sometimes.

That speed is unteachable. He should have a 4th line spot locked up, at minimum, as long as he isn't completely rocks for brains.

having that "hail mary" play available opens things up for other guys too. if there's no threat for cherrypicking, there's no reason to defend it
