LaDue was fine for a guy who looked obviously nervous. I don’t know anyone who considers him a top four yet. But he has more offensive upside than Folin, Forbort, and Gravel combined. Hopefully he’ll gain confidence with experience. If they trade him, so be it. At lest he breaks the mold of redundancy LA seems to have going on.

My parents are from the USSR and said it was actually common, and something that was supported if your wife was making mistakes here and there.

Yeah it's easy to say he's an ass or whatever, but I would just like to present the possibility it's a learned societal behavior. And not something much more darker.

But yeah anyways, I would give him a second chance.

Interesting, yeah it's very unfortunate it's a part of their society.

Heck of a game by Keumper. Held the fort and kept the Kings in the game.

Always enjoy a win against the Flames. I despise that club.

Pearson just shoves Doughty away. Doughty's lack of maturity probably never ceases to amaze his teammates.

To be honest, when I saw that I was pretty surprised. I wonder if his team mates are annoyed by him. It was weird that he pushed him away. I thought the same thing.

LaDue has definitely much more offensive upside, and is a great skater. If he gains confidence and solidifies his game he can potentially be a huge asset for us.

Kings have too many slow skaters on the back end which is why they get burned a lot.

One thing to watch next time is how many times LaDue gets a touch on the puck and how quickly he gets it. Kings need a fast puck retrieving dman so they don't get hemmed in.

Would be great if he's given a chance to shine.

I don't see that as shoving him away at all. I see that as a '**** yeah' type of nudge. See teammates do it all the time in every sport when celebrating.
I don't see any malice, but I think he is maybe wondering why are you yelling at a bunch of Calgary fans.

I would be if I was Pearson. Maybe I am being too hard on Doughty, but celebrate with your teammate and ignore the fans.

LaDue showed jitters, which is to be expected of a sort-of rookie playing his first NHL game of the season (notwithstanding the 20 or so games he played last year). I think once he gets comfortable, he could be the top 4 defenseman we are missing. There were parts of the game yesterday where he showed his dynamic skill set and ability to drive the puck from D to O-zone. I look forward to seeing more of him, and hope he can be the Voynov replacement (but of course there are no guarantees). If not, we have to work with what we got because I don't think we can land a Top-4 defenseman via trade. There are so many teams out there that are in need of a Top 4, and we don't have the assets to outbid them.

On another note, I was very, very impressed with Folin last night. I think he has really distinguished himself from the other non-Doughty, Muzzin, Martinez defensemen we have. Hopefully he keeps getting better.

If I were Pearson, I'd understand why Drew is so over-the-top pumped after being a physical target, getting booed and jeered, having a rough start only to overcome and get two points and taking big part in the game winner.

IN CALGARY, no less, which has been a house of horrors for us. Uncontrolled matchups, etc. I love his skillset, we're missing that.

Folin of last night is exactly the Folin I was high on and hoped we got. I hope he continues to grow into that role as well.

Pretty much. Also, even if the Kings did manage to find one and make that deal, that would create a hole in the lineup, as the asking price is a young top 6 forward. They just don't have the ammo. And what if elects not to resign in LA? You lose a top forward for nothing.

But I think they could land a veteran bottom tier d, that should be doable. If they could get a physical, in your face type with moxy, that would benefit them and take pressure off the youngsters.

Correct. Basically for the Kings to land someone like McDonagh they would have to trade away LaDue/Clague, Vilardi, and our 1st. That is a very steep price to pay for a top 4.

Okay, that's fair. The guy needs to learn how to enjoy the boos.

Oh, he certainly thrives on it. Dude loves the spotlight. I think that was his demonstration, but I agree with you that everyone will channel it differently. I can't say I wouldn't turn an ear to the crowd

I think with Folin this year we have 4 solid guys. Not saying Folin is a surefire top 4, but he's a perfect bottom pairing guy who can move up occasionally. It's frustrating that none of Forbort, Gravel, or LaDue have cemented themselves yet. I think all 3 have the skill, but they have difficulty with the speed of the NHL and don't have the instincts to make consistently good decisions.

If a top 4 is available for a feasible price, I'm sure we'd have one by now. I'd actually be fine with a bottom pairing guy that makes smart plays and can make good exit passes. We need a smart guy, the flashy side is completely optional. A guy like Ian Cole would be a great fit, but the Pens are in the thick of it still so unlikely. If the Isles keep sliding, De Haan would be nice and wouldn't require a huge package in return. Hard to say with how the Islanders are run.
