I mean he also said he doesn’t understand why the team turtles in the 3rd period with the lead which is puzzling because he’s the god damn coach and it happens every single damn time

D can do that????

Are you new to hockey? This happens to pretty much every team and has happened to the Canucks over the years under all rosters and coaches.

Ever heard of "score effects"? There's a reason this term exists.

If the roster was better they'd be better able to handle opposing surges but that isn't the case. He's not telling them to dump and change for the entire 3rd period, the players just get overwhelmed and it happens.

If only he had Naslund's wheels. Lol it's D-Petey. You can't even tell them appart. :)

Watching these last 5-6 years of NHL shows me that Nazzy and Bure were born in the wrong era. They would feast in this offensive orientated NHL with smaller equipment goalies and no clutch & grab.

Nice win! Stanley Cup Finals preview!

Hughes is the best!

Miller winning face-offs and blocking shots late is also big.

I mean strong effort and a big win. Makes sure we stay within a hot streak of catching CGY.

But also like does it really matter until whatever happens gets done?

Not a good game for Miller's trade value and his stans. Skinny may not score but his 2 way hame is unmatched while playing with 3rd liners.

A triple zero for Vladdys best friend.:)

Personally I think it’s more to do with the personnel. The only reason our defense isn’t considered toxic sludge in a tire fire bad is it has Quinn Hughes.

I will add that every time I watch someone dump it in kitty corner from F1, an angel falls to earth.

By March, I can see a young shutdown pairing of Wilander on the right, and D-Petey on the left.

Trade Demko to Carolina for one or two of their young d-prospects, and suddenly the team's biggest black hole, becomes more than passable.

We really need to trade EP40 if he has any value. With his big contract, he won’t have value playing the way he has for very long.
If you trade EP then you have to trade Hughes too. Unless of course you get a superstar in return for EP.

Consider we got Byram and Cozens in exchange for EP. And then we trade Miller for a 2nd line Center. Do you think Hughes would extend his contract then? You'd have to trade him too.

I think Miller could be traded for a younger player but if you lose EP for some mid-tier player(s) then we're effectively rebuilding and Hughes won't stay around for that.

Tocchet with lots of praise for players taking the puck to the middle of the ice.

Question from Jason Brough: “Do you think there’s been too much deferring to the point man?”

Tocchet: “A million per cent.”
