Just a reminder we have maybe the top D and goalie this season so far. Dont panic as long as we keep getting Ws

And I'm not concerned at all about the D or the goalie. They've played themselves into a position where I think the how is much more important than the how many in order to prepare them for the playoffs.

I don't think having fewer than 20 shots a game is a good strategy for making a deep cup run and they've been making a bad habit of doing so recently.

This. It’s not “winning the right way.” It’s more a convo about what is sustainable.

Carberry talked specifically about this. Winning hits not good because you are chasing. Best when you are driving puck possession AND getting shots. More possession please. more shots. Don’t overthink it.

The league's best road PK IINM gets it done yet again...

So much HFB PDO cope. It's not wrong...and yet...how quality have the chances against been? How many difficult saves has Thompson had to make? How many rebound chances? Quality > quantity.

They're definitely not the possession team they were earlier in the season. I put much of that on Ovechkin's absence, Strome subsequently falling apart basically and the lines not being balanced. Protas-PLD-Wilson is a hell of a line tailor made for eating match-ups but as-is they can't afford to go that route when games really matter. They need more of that industriousness on other lines. They could live with a softer middle six mix were it more dynamic but they're not. More often the Strome line in particular is just...present...on the ice. Eller has a couple of misfits on his wings. Shrug.

Mangiapane probably has to go to make the money work on an upgrade. So be it. I wouldn't be too concerned about The Room. The Room will take to an upgrade and keep it moving. You'd think Leonard will also join the mix and look to provide a two-way spark...but they still need at least one more upgrade. Raddysh going back to 4RW and adding some sort of other legit middle six spark seems essential.

Matt Roy had a nice night with a goal and a relatively decent night in terms of xG. That'll earn twabby's game puck for tonight.

HMs to LT, PLD, and CMM.
