Another game where Kempe shows he needs to be playing top line minutes. 10:02 of ice time last night, same as Mitchell. What else does this guy need to do to get the Dwight King treatment from Stevens?

No doubt he's serviceable, especially when he's not panicking under pressure. I still would like to see him replicate the success and consistency of which he performed at between 2014-16.

Last season was a disaster for him, but he's bouncing back and is already approaching the numbers he registered last season.

I think what sucks for Muzzin is he's not dynamic, so when he IS playing well, he's rarely noticeable.

Not lose his guy easily in front of the net like he did on the 2nd goal is a pretty good example. Until then, he's gonna get the majority of his starts in the ozone and neutral zone, and that will cut his minutes in half since Shore has to eat the d-minutes.

No props for Mike Amadio's first multi-point game? Maybe this is the start of a more confident game for Amadio. The sooner he displaces Nick Shore back to the fourth line center role, the better.
he did a ton of little things right in this game

first period he was always such an easy outlet on the breakout

As RJ pointed out, Kempe still loses his check too often in his own zone. As a fan, I appreciate him stepping up to the plate for a teammate. That is leadership in action. If he turns out to have the kind of brass balls Mike Richards and Justin Williams (not in a fighting sense for Williams) had while playing for the Kings, they have a winner in Kempe.

Also wanna point out yet another quietly masterful game by Anze Kopitar. 8 points in last 8 games, winning pucks all over the ice, and dominant at the face-off dot. Didn't get credit for an assist on the empty netter, but two face-off wins led to two goals last night.

HansH i rarely see you post so i am curious what your definition of haters is ? I may have used the wrong term there Would complainers or disbelievers have been better suited iyo
"Haters" _want_ a team to fail, or a player to perform badly. What you seem to be objecting to is people who want a positive outcome, but feel that history has taught them to expect the worst, despite their hopes and desires. It's a very human tactic to attempt to immunize oneself against disappointment by preparing for it, and when disappointed often enough, one begins to expect it -- again, contrary to desires or hopes. Then of course, there are the people who are trying to reverse jinx, etc. People are going to be frustrated and express their frustrations when things aren't going ideally -- calling that "hating" seems to me to be misguided at best.

While I agree he deserves more minutes, he did have a 5 minute sit in the box. So that 10:02 should of been around 12:00.

Yes Kempe at C is still a work in progress. His down low coverage when he first started playing C at Ontario was of someone completely lost. He’s come a long way, but... I can tell you Amadio gets it. He was far more natural at covering down low when he first came up, and if I remember that was in the AHL playoffs. You saw some of Amadio skills last game, especially on the PP. Slick fast hands along the boards dribbling the puck around feint one way and dish the other, and precision passing. It’s the first time I saw him feeling that comfortable out there. I look for better things to come. The kid is clever and a good playmaker. Please don’t put him with people that can’t finish.
