The only game in the last 8 that Demko has been over .900 was the one he hurt himself in. Goaltending made the score tonight look a lot worse than it should have been.

Team response physically was atrocious. Letting Zadorov go was just such a massive mistake.

Cole was also a nice shit disturber to have.

Watching the highlights, maybe only the 3rd goal was iffy, but every other goal wtf was Demko supposed to do???

It's looking more and more like the Pettersson of old was more a flash in the pan. I just don't get how his game completely fell off a cliff.

He gives a damn. But it's mental, whatever this rift is between him and Miller, is screwing his mental.

You saw improvement right away as soon as Miller was out for a few games.

Saw this mental thing last year, just didn't know where it was coming from.

But it almost looked like he was an outcast when the team celebrated a goal last year.

You can see it in the downcast eyes.

And now you can see the downcast eyes on Miller as well.

The whole locker has gone toxic & it's affecting the whole crew.

You gotta get rid of whoever is causing it.

I've seen the power of outcasting & what it can do to even the most capable/rational/brilliant guys.

Doesn't matter how strong your mind is, you're only human.

When this happens, the only fix is either a change of scenery, or removal of the cause.

Patterson will be fine, if you get rid of Miler.

Or Patterson will be fine; on another team.

Either way, 1 has to go.

The more they lose the more the noise will intensify, and the closer we’ll get to a lopsided Miller trade. At this point I don’t even care if they get ripped off in a trade, I don’t like any players on the roster besides Hughes, Garland, and Sherwood. Get rid of Miller, get rid of Boeser, and use the rest of the season to see if Demko still has it or if they have to reevaluate their goaltending.
Yeah we are not going anywhere right now with how Demko is playing anyways. Yeah he’s coming back from a pretty bad injury but he has not shown any signs so far at all that he’s adapting well to the changes and it’s super concerning

There just needs to be trades soon. They HAVE to be listening on Pettersson, and I wouldn’t be surprised to start hearing noise come out on Boeser/Demko too. Also wouldn’t be surprised if Hoglander was flipped as a random trade.

Two and a half years ago Frank Seravalli shared this insight about Thatcher Demko:

View attachment 966289

It’s proved to be a very accurate take.

Unfortunately, it's easy for an anonymous executive to say that when he's not in charge. I don't think there's a single GM in the league that would have traded Demko at that time. You could just as easily look like a complete fool.

Boeser 100000% has to be traded at the deadline. If they don't, it will be worse than the Hamhuis non-trade.

I doubt anyone is offering value for Demko. I would offer him for a conditional 1st rounder on the contingency that the team makes it to the 2nd round or whatever. I doubt you are getting an unprotected 1st for him.

Today I learned, the popletius is in the hips.
I don’t think any of us are physios… but given the major hip surgery he’s already had in his career—it is easy to believe that he’s had to compensate his movements in other ways that may have damaged other parts of his lower body.

By the way, the Canucks are single handedly responsible for securing the Hart trophy for Draisaitl.

Because they surrendered 5 points to him in 2 games, plus they prevented McDavid from playing 3 games.

So Draisaitl has opened up a 9 point lead on McDavid when it was originally just a 2 point lead headed into the game on Saturday.

Draisaitl having separation from McDavid in the scoring race was the main thing preventing him from being the Hart favorite.

Ehh. I don't really care about that. It's fun to hate on Draisaitl from a rivalry perspective, but the guy is supremely talented and deserves the Hart. He's having an insane season.

Doesn't mean Edmonton can't fumble in the playoffs though. ;)
