Hey, we can always be reminded of that needless trade for Lucic.

On the positive side, every player and asset given up from that deal is excelling!

Barzal should’ve been a King, but Lucic left a lasting impression that has Kings fans still thinking positively of his impact on this team.
Hey, you're forgetting Lucic led the Kings to their only playoff win in the last three seasons.

Feels like a totally different team watching these highlights from 6 weeks ago.

They have gotten back to playing Sutter/Lombardi hockey and if they keep it up the results are going to be the same as they were the previous 3 seasons.

In the 7 Pac home games:

Brown, 4-2-6
Kopitar, 3-2-5
Doughty, 1-4-5
Lewis, 1-2-3
Iafallo, 0-3-3
Forbort, 0-3-3
Gaborik, 1-1-2
Muzzin, 0-2-2
Pearson, 1-0-1
Shore, 1-0-1
Kempe, 0-1-1
Folin, 0-1-1

5 goals from everyone not named Brown or Kopitar. Diddly squat from Toffoli. Kempe's point was just after a PP today. I believe Pearson was out there with Kopitar when he scored against Vancouver. Gaborik never touched that puck against Vegas. The goal by Lewis today was after it was 3-0, and it was the same 3-0 score when Shore scored against the Ducks, both in the 3rd period.

This is all at home. Not on the road where the lack of a 2nd center, and inexperienced defensemen are supposed to really hurt. I don't get this home record against the division. Can't get leads. Can't hold leads. Get outmuscled. Teams have walked out with 13 of 14 possible points.

Probably the last one we’ll get to see in a good while. Lucic was also completely useless in the post season, so the have certainly benefited long term from that deal.

Lucic is the modern day Grant Fuhr, minus the coke.

Will be a kick in the balls to watch Barzal and Connor's NHL career knowing one of them would have been a King if the GM didn't completely lose his mind.

How are they back to Sutter Lombardi hockey when Sutter and Lombardi aren't here anymore? Don't these guys have the system freedom they wanted now? Being this trash is 100% on the players.

I don't know what has happened. I don't know if Stevens has tried to tighten up more because of how awful the defense is but they aren't playing the same type of free flowing hockey they were playing in late Nov/early Dec.

We need Lucic back.

Adrian Kempe postgame on the loss...

The Mayor John Hoven‏ @mayorNHL 2h2 hours ago
Adrian Kempe - "We talked before the game; we wanted to come out and have a good start, play well for 60 minutes... We didn’t play well at all for 60 minutes today. We have to go back and look at some things and try to be better tomorrow.”

K17: Sure on the loan, but I'll underwrite you just like I've done this team, meaning you get the loan if you qualify. I wouldn't of loaned this team any money because I know a little hot streak isn't a trend: it's a streak.

This season has been a 05-06 from the start and I'm glad someone finally mentioned it. Quick is an amazing player and so are #11 & 8, but they have to play out of their minds for them to win consistently. The secondary players that stepped up are hitting a wall, predictably, but so are Brown and Quietar which, unfortunately, is also predictable.

Hopefully they break out of it soon.

And they haven't tightened up shit... They are sloppy as f***.

I've said before this team can't afford an injury to the top four defenseman. How have they looked without Muzzin? There is just no depth.

I have collateral in the form of Luc Robitaille and Bob Miller bobbleheads.

At least they didn't get shutout again by the Sharks.

What a crap game! Back to back games with very little effort to actually generate chances or even score aside from Lewis. Gave Jones another easy night until the final 7 min and he got pulled in the 1st period of his last game!

Oddly enough,

The Western Conference specifically the pacific is playing Sutter style hockey to bottle the Kings up and pin them in the D zone. Teams are taking away the ice like the Kings use to do.

Losing Muzzin hurt more than people think it does. With that said, it's a long season with more games to play.

I am sure the Kings will at least make a go for third/second in the Pacific. Kopitar is having a fantastic season.

Teams adjusted, the Kings didn't or can't due to the roster.

I had a feeling that hot start was a little optimistic. Teams were letting the Kings just walk right into the slot with speed. That was going to stop at some point.
