I just wanna point out that was a clinic Kopitar put on. What a completely dominant game. Say what you will about Anze, but man is he a horse out there. Point per game for over a month now, and playing every hard minute against the toughest competition.

Quick, Doughty, and Muzzin also super strong last night.

Speaking of the 16 GP in the last month...

Kopitar - 3G, 14pts
Brown - 6G, 12pts
Luff - 7G, 9pts
Wagner - 3G, 7pts
Kempe - 3G, 7pts
Forbort - 1G, 6pts
Carter - 2G, 5pts
Clifford - 3G, 3pts
Thompson -2G, 3pts
Leipsic - 1G, 3pts
Toffoli - 0G, 2pts, 52 shots(which leads the team)

How come Scherbak played less than 4 minutes last night ? Was he injured ?

He also made about 4 uncharacteristic passes into no mans land last night which I found odd.

Didn't watch the game....but from reading this...it sounds like it was an extremely well played game from LA....

So....having said that....when everyone asks, "OMG what was Blake seeing in the team, what was he thinking etc" THIS was the team he was expecting from last year etc.

Regardless of if you disagree with him or not, if you want a retool, rebuild, or not.....THIS was the team he was expecting coming from last year.

I somewhat disagree. Of course we always expected that the stars would perform and this isn't so much about them. There is a much stronger youth movement last night. This team has more speed and skill now. We have picked up players from waiver and due to injury been able to move past players like Lewis, Clifford, Phaneuf, and Kovalchuck as well as trade Tanner Pearson for another injured player.

Of 18 skaters we thought we would see though out the season, almost a third of those last night were not skating.

Fair enough, not sure if I would classify Kovalchuk and Lewis as slow...but I do get your point....the youth movement was forced on them by injuries, I get that...I just feel that this is the team that Blake "expected" that's why he signed Kovalchuk, didn't trade Carter etc...

Regardless of youth movement or not, he's gonna have to make a move, 14 signed contracts next year and only 6 M in cap space for 9 players so, someone will have to give somwhere

I wouldn't classify Lewis as speed and skill. :)

Beyond all that though, its 1 game. I hope they keep showing up like this.

hard to argue with the result of last night but I hate our coach.

Agree 100%

Didn't see any glaring mistakes the kid made. Thought he had some nice games on the road trip too.

Watched 6 or 7 no look behind the back passes from Captain Kopi that went directly to Jets players that they were very lucky not to end up in net.

Nothing make sense anymore.

But it was a really good win last night. The kids played well, Quick played well, defense played well. Walker is looking better than LaDue. Kid could be a player.

The #1 reason I didn't stay up to ungodly oclock and watch that game was putting Scherbak on the 4th line....kid didn't do anything to deserve that, no glaring mistakes no defensive defeciencies, played an honest game etc

If 20/4 thought this years team was what showed up last night, then it will be interesting to watch what happens when a ton of old vets come off the IR soon.

The Scherbak move makes no sense when you see the minutes given to Carter and his results.

WD does seem to have a thing out for Russian born players. Never really seen a NHL coach behave like WD has. Dude had 5 shifts all game, 5!!

Look, if Scherbak was playing like LaDue, then I get the benching. But he was having a strong game against Pitt and was benched. Odd. Not a fan of WD

He hates Russians. He benched Kovalchuk as well when he was our best player.

WD is a disgusting person and an even worse coach.

The only players who are getting benched are the Russians. Cancerous coach that needs to get canned.
