They should really move Quick and Carter. Both have no real future on this team anymore

Just don't expect it. You can want it, but don't expect it. The years left on their contracts are the problem. If Blake can somehow manage to do it, fine, but there's another team in the equation. It's not all about the Kings.

Man, didn't realize with a win tonight the Chargers will move into a first place tie with the Chiefs in the AFC West.

Quick with 2 good saves, but he made that harder on himself. If he played it more upright, it would have a been a simpler kicked out rebound and a shift to his right. Instead he has to be like super man and sprawl twice to make saves. You wonder why he's sustaining more frequent injuries, because he's relying way too much athleticism and while getting close to his mid 30's.

Didn't say he's a problem. If you give a defenseman $11 million per year, he better play like it. Doughty is not even playing close to what he's being paid!

That's been the case with almost everyone that has signed a new contract since June 2012.

There are much worse contracts in the league that have been moved. Kings don't need to get amazing pieces back at all, just dumping their contracts is a big win as it is.

Is there a website which tracks offsides metrics? The Kings must lead the league.

Both Carter and Quick can still get good trade returns, but Blake will have to retain some on both contracts, unless the Kings take some bad contracts back as part of the deals.

That's what made him an NHL goalie. He's not going to change now. He's always been at his best when he walks the very fine line between athlete and goalie. When he's too much on either end, it doesn't work. Too aggressive, too conservative, that's not a good Quick. Have to live with the good and the bad.

That's the tough part of his contract. He's going to be 33, and he still has $7m coming to him next year. By the time his salary goes down, potentially making him more attractive for a trade, he'll be that much older. It's more likely than not that they'll have to ride Quick out for the rest of his contract. Have to hope Petersen signs a multi year deal for pretty cheap, and then maybe buy Quick out in a few years.

Been moved for what though? Those aren't contracts you get to dump. Not when they have all those years left. Maybe pay to dump a contract, but that's mostly for guys that are on LTIR. If Quick and Carter are as bad/old/overpaid/whatever as we say they seem to be, it'll be more Gaborik/Phaneuf than anything else.

What a stale team. Even Drew's effort to put in emotion is sad, because it's a little bit of hitting followed by the realization that we're going nowhere for a dude that really truly cares.

Same with Anze minus the emotion part, both guys get caught trying to play superman for a roster that's injured and just flat-out not good enough, which makes everything quicksand effect.
