Welp, that was fun. Should do this again some time.

We've had a lot of bad losses to compare to, and I don't think this one is *that* bad in the pantheon of bad losses. We've definitely had worse.

Terry was our best forward and it wasn't particularly close. Henrique was doing some decent work even before his goal, and I mean "decent" very much in the sense of "he wasn't embarrassing himself" which is the equivalent of standing out in this forward group.|

Zegras had kind of a meh night but the great thing about guys like him is they can create some dangerous scoring chances even on their meh nights.

Comtois had that one really bad turnover but I don't think he's been *as* bad the last two games as he was for a few games before that. He gets to the top of the crease, at least. He's probably got some press box time coming.

Lundestrom needs to figure out what he wants to do with the puck. He gets it and just kinda skates himself into the trouble while never actually trying to do anything.

Rakell was pretty ineffective.

Drysdale still looked just fine as an NHL defenseman. I thought Hakanpaa had a real bad game.

The emergence of Drysdale is way more important, even in terms of the next season or two, than the results of a game like this. We're closer than I would have said a month ago.

Actually thought Zegras was better tonight despite the goal on Thursday. Drysdale was good again as well.

Terry really coming around now.. need more from Comtois

I missed most of this game, watching the Rangers game, Was glad to catch that goal in the 3rd. Makes you feel a little better that Terry and Zegras are producing still and are clicking. How did that line look all game? How was Drysdale?

its nice that we are getting to a point where terry getting a point isnt a special rare occurrence to be cherished

He’s taken the bright spot mantle from Comtois as of late. 11 points in his last 16 after starting 0 for 9 and earning an extended stay in the press box. Starting to turn the flashes of brilliance from his first couple years into tangible production

And what is Eakins trying to do?
I don't know and not pretending to but the coach sets the systems and strategies and deployments. This team is all over the place. Pucks are going to open ice but there is no one there to collect. Pucks get rimmed around the boards but there's no one there. Puck support is poor. Net driving is poor. It feels like no one knows where their line mates are or will be. To me that tells me they either don't understand what they're supposed to be doing or they don't trust that it will work or that their linemates will do what they're supposed to.

Eakins is not a NHL coach, that is apparent now. This team looks exactly like the Oilers did, no physically, low effort, never finishing checks... even when someone touches our goalie you don't see any fight in them they just grab the guy and hope he stops. Wish we could get Gallant so much.

Here is a recent example how of much our team doesn't give a shit.
