They're using Pettersson to shelter Derharnais right now, if you hadn't noticed. I guess no one else is up to the task lol.

I really do trust them to make trades and get the players they need. But right now this is wooof.

Yep. I posted about it in the trade thread but Pettersson plays the least with Hughes right now because Tocchet's having him babysit the defense.

I get players don't all have to be friends, but if the coach can't get the team to play for one another. Then what type of job is he doing? It's maybe job number 1 and Tocc is failing it miserably.

This is before we even mention the awful defence evaluation.

Teams with factions don’t win championships usually. Laurence Gilman recently told a story of the 2011 team where Rick Rypien went missing after suffering a bout of depression and how all the players went out looking for him literally in the streets of Vancouver. Not handlers. Not management telling them to do it. His team mates ALL went out looking for their brother. He lived with Kevin Bieksa…. That was a team.

These guys are f***ing bums.

If you look back at Miller’s career. Other than last season, this current Miller is the usual Miller

Wrong.

Unlucky loss. Another horrific call, a bad bounce, some leaky goals from Demmer (who was otherwise great).

The 1st unit PP has been killing them, the Sedins used to get this team timely PP goals which won them games they didn't deserve, or close out a game when things are teetering.

Tonight at 2-1 they get a key opportunity & do nothing. The 2nd unit getting a goal is great but 1st unit has too much talent not to make a difference at key moments.

I think Petey should be on it instead of JT, far too stagnant with JT, they move the puck around more with Petey.
The PP thing is pretty goddamn weird. Like, are they going to switch off each game? Also it's like they're going out of their way to feed the rumours. Tone deaf stuff. My best, most generous guess is that they're trying to keep a spot for Garland open, and they don't want to punish either centre unduly by permanently keeping them off. But if so, and if you don't want to create a media circus, you better explain that.

It was a nothing play that happens dozens of tie a game as guys jockey for position when there's a puck tied up along the boards. it was a horrible call.
It shouldn't have been a call but there were questionable calls all game. Why should that have been any different?

Myers didn't have to push him down.late in the game. There were a number of of things he could have done that wouldnt have resulted in a call

3 on 3 is more or less a crap shoot. Any team can win those on any given day

I miss this guy
My son and I started counting the dump ins today. It was more fun than most of the game. Tocchet's a better coach for this team right now for sure, but it isn't fun to watch unless they're going 100 percent and winning all those battles on 50/50 pucks they created themselves due to game strategy.

Someone mentioned Spicy dumping it in during o/t. Makes perfect sense. It's so ingrained.

Last year in the first half of the season the Canucks were magical for the comeback wins or winning in ot. They always seemed to pull it off. It looks like that magic has disappeared for good.

Tocchet post game saying the ref is a good guy. Come on, the head coach needs to have his team's back and stop kissing the league and ref's assess. It's honestly embarassing.

AV would never do that

Was it not Tocchet who called out the reffing earlier last year and then the refs threw a hissy fit for a few games against the Canucks? NHL refs are giant babies when it comes to criticism

A reminder to the haters that if Petey stayed on that long and then coasted back like that people would be going for his head right now and would be talking about it for a week.

Not that thats reasonable here. Couldve won like half a dozen times there, Garland had so many empty nets it got kind of crazy he didnt put it in by the end. Bad one for Demmer there... but no blame for anyone really, stuff happens.

I get what you're saying but Demko, Myers, and Miller all made glaring errors that cost the game. In such a short time period with the game close to in the bag. Dang, that's a sucky loss. Good thing there is another one tomorrow.

Can Tocchet explain it? Damage done, imo.

The best explanation is still going to have people be wary about it.

Sucks to be on the losing end but honestly I think it's an encouraging game.
Depends on whether you're a glass half-full, or a glass half-empty person. Hard reality is the better team won tonight.

Without Demko in the first period, this team would have been buried after the first 20 minutes. You look at this Utah blueline......from top to bottom, far more mobility and puck-handling ability. Not really surprising that it was a Utah blueliner Sergachev who got the winner.

It's really jarring in a game like this.

Openly calling out the striped dildos for the butt f***ers they are will never end well. Sad as it may be, it will only result in bad things. Consider how Buttman shelters them from even a stiff breeze. In an ideal world, these zebras with such huge and fragile egos are held accountable. But here, they clearly are not. It's just something we'll have to deal with.

Not hugely upset about the game. It kinda sucks, but you know, it's one game.

Vegas, however, will probably cash us out tomorrow, there's no doubt in my mind.

It helped considering VAN had two evenly called series last playoffs when we got absolutely f***ed during AV’s reign. Repeatedly. Officials hated us. They don’t anymore, and that shit matters in the playoffs.

There’s no way there isn’t a conclusion to this nonsense in the next little bit.

Maybe one goal from our stars would have swung that one, but Miller was in bonehead-mode and nobody really showed up. Poor finish on some pretty good chances across the board, outside the two goals.
