Pettersson is absolutely a passenger. A very talented passenger, to be sure, but a passenger. That's how he plays. His saving grace is that he's so effective defensively. That's what staves off the passenger label somewhat.

I mean I feel like you need to be as good as Barkov defensively if you want to make that your calling card as a #1C.

Pettersson is solid defensively but he needs to be putting up at least 95+ points on top of that, because he's not as good defensively as a Barkov or a prime Kopitar, for example.
