Funny how a handful of us have been saying the team was in trouble the last few years and were attacked personally.Even said which positions, now that it's come to fruition, still same people trying to beat that same dead horse excuses to death.Just accept the facts. This team has holes to fill and it has to be filled before this team is even considered a contender for the cup.I've been a fan since 82 myself, and want nothing more to eat crow and see this team succeed.

Per Jon Rosen

First time the Jets or Thrashers have ever won in regulation in L.A.

Per Jon Rosen

2-1, Jets. #LAKings fall to 1-6-0 in their last seven. One goal in three of the six losses.

Because he lost his job to a more hungier player and wasn't very good at scoring either no matter where he was slotted. Aside from that 4 point night, he really did nothing.

We traded for a player with worse stats than Cammy. The move made no sense if we need depth players who can produce something.

19 of 24 points in October, 130 over 82 games. 7 of 20 points so far in November, 57 over 82 games. 26 out of 44 in total, which is 97 over 82. It's funny, if they had these 26 points in a more even distribution, we probably wouldn't complain as much. Kopitar, Brown, Toffoli, Doughty, and Kempe are all scoring at a rate we all only hoped they could in our wildest dreams. It's just the wild swing from one month to the next, and the way they've managed to do it this month. Which looks so much like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.

2nd in ES ice time for forwards, and 3rd in overall ice time for forwards. He's got 1 goal. The effort is there, no question. He's got 1 goal in 22 games. On pace for 30 points. He's the 1st line LW. If he's on the 3rd line, ok, you get some more slack. He plays too much to have just 1 goal.

Not just him, it's Brown too. Your 2nd and 3rd forwards in ES ice time have 1 goal at ES since Oct 11. It's Nov 22nd. It's 6 weeks now. At least Kopitar has 5 during that stretch. 0 in the last 7 though. 1 in the last 12, and 2 in the last 15.

7-8-1 since Carter went down. 4-8-4 in regulation. Too many guys haven't picked up the slack in Carter's absence. Forwards, defensemen, goalies.

Depth at scoring is really the issue. That's why some teams can lose a top center and continue to win or stay afloat because others can score. It would've been nice if Lombardi had drafted a few more centers that you know, could score, instead of be really good at character.

You mean that time he was way out of position?

um, yeah - seen that before, plenty of times.
it's not an out of position thing, it's a fundamentals thing

you come out from the crease to cut off the angle, something smaller goalies have to do a lot of. when you're out from the crease and a player moves laterally, you have to slide with. he just chunked the push. we've seen a lot of that creep into his game lately. that game where he let in 3 and got pulled, he didn't get his stick down to cover the 5 hole and was late getting down to boot, then he tried to play a normal shot with a half butterfly and again, didn't even get his stick down. he's not a 6'8 monster that covers post to post in the butterfly and can afford to play back in his crease. he has to come out and in order to come out, his fundamentals have to be on point. not too impressive lately.

We traded for a guy who's not one dimentional and actually has done a good job . He wasn't brought in to fill the scoring void.
Cammy is doing the exact same thing as he was in LA. In 4 games he has 1 assist and is a -3

WE Should've Kept Brayden Schenn.

Oh come on, I think every single one of us have agree’d that the Kings have been suffering for a few seasons. Personally attacked? Was your dog threatened?

I don’t think it’s fair to say that it’s all downhill from here... because whether you like it or not, the Kings were doing a lot better with Carter in the line up. I’m not saying they were going to continue the pace, but that’s a huge hole to fill for any team and especially for us. While scoring isn’t doing that great, the biggest concern I have is our defense... Muzzin and Forbort aren’t getting the job done and are coughing up the puck and they just aren’t working hard enough without it. Guys like Scuderi, Mitchell and Greene knew how to clear that damn crease and knew exactly where to put their sticks...

We will not get far if that continues, IMO.

We all knew in the back of our minds that they weren't as good as the hot stretch indicated.

We all know now they're not as bad as this losing stretch.

This team was always going to battle on the playoff bubble. It's not the end of the world. Lot of good teams in this conference.

Gotta love people like K17, though. Account goes into complete radio silence when the team is winning. Now they're losing, and he's in every GDT playing I told you so.

Remember, kids: it's important to be right on the internet.

He was here the entire time. Think he even bought in at some point, or at least close to it.

Just seems more prevalent now that all the "Kings are amazing" told you so posters are sitting on their hands.

All losses are one goal losses with exception of empty net goals.

Its a scoring problem currently. Eventually Kings will go on a winning streak again.

Some real debby downers here.

Why is LaDue down in ONT and stiffs like Forbort,MacDermid and Folin getting dressed? The Kings can’t break out of the zones cleanly to save their lives because of these dmen being unable to skate with the puck or recover them quick enough to get the play moving the other way. Plus you have their partners collapsing way down in the dzone to make themselves available for pass behind the net because they’ve been coached they need to be close to each other and support the play.

The days of the lumbering defenseman are done, you can’t have two of those kind dressed if you have the forward depth issues this team does.

I think the Kings are hoping Gaborik steps in and fills that #1 LW spot. You can't have a #1 LW on pace for 30 points, I don't care what the nerd stats say.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vegas is 4, Nashville is 5, and so on...

Pretty easy to cherry pick the standing when 6 teams are tied with 23 points. You know what, the Kings are 3 points from 2nd in the conference. #halffull

The point is, the Kings developed a very nice cushion going into November...2 weeks ago, they had an 8 point cushion in regards to a playoff spot....today, 3 points. I don't see that as cherry picking, I'm pointing out the fact that the Kings have a blown the great situation they were in.

Thanks BK, I have been here. I have been doing quite a bit of traveling for work lately and haven't always been able to post during the games, but I usually managed to post something the following morning. I was able to post during the game yesterday because I took the day off.

Look guys, any team which is really a true contender isn't likely to be this streaky. Most contenders rarely lose more than 3 in a row during a season. The Kings are exactly who we knew they were, a middle of the pack team, which on a good day can beat a better team. They aren't in the same class as St. Louis, Nashville, Tampa Bay, or even Toronto.

We lost our second best forward a few weeks into the season. A two way forward that is probably our most skilled consistent scoring threat that brings size, and speed down the middle of the ice and makes a second line extremely dangerous as well as helps propal our anemic PP.

Blake and companies did a great job over summer replenishing the minors and the NHL roster itself gained rookies Kempe, Iafallo , Fantenberg, MacDermid, and to some extent a revolving door of tryouts from Ontario on a weekly basis.

Blake's job now is to help strengthen our NHL roster. In the next few weeks a healthy Gaborik return to the lineup could be a very underrated blessing. He has the speed and skill to thrive in this new system and should help ease a little bit of the loss of Carter's production.

Carter when healthy should be just like a trade deadline pickup.

When the team is healthy and everybody slide it into the right positions the only hole I actually see is on defense.

I would like to see Blake package a couple players for one solid steady defenseman at this time.

Just watched the game in full. Honestly, that's a game we win earlier this season, but since everything is upside down right now, that's a game we lose.

Not as good as we were when streaking, definitely not as terrible as the results say right now. our 'fortunes' in terms of shooting and save percentage on both sides have basically completely flipped. Some of that was due to some trash play for a while there, but as K17 said, those little things are the margins for bubble teams.

Edit: nm, had to comment--the smug criticism of Iafallo is laughable. "he's not producing" is a literally correct assessment but a dishonest one since many of our points over the last several games have come as a 'third assist' to him.

I couldn't agree more about Iafallo. Ideally you would like to see him get a few more points, but part of the reason Brown and Kopi have been so successful is directly because of Iafallo. He's basically a junior Justin Williams so far this season.

I disagree, would you really want to risk Kopitar's play dropping? Brown's? Iafallo has been a stud on the 1st line, absolutely no reason to bump him down.

Gaborik has been practicing on a line with Brodzinski and Jokinen. At this stage of his career he'll probably be mostly used as a depth scorer and a 2nd unit PP player.

Ducks are doing a great job of staying in the hunt right now without Getzlaf and Kesler.
