NEWS/NOTES:
  • The Sharks had a big win against division rivals Vancouver Canucks by a score 5-0. The score looks more generous than the game indicated. The Sharks last 3 goals came with in the last few minutes. Aaron Dell was in for Martin Jones and recorded a 41 save shutout. The 2nd of his NHL career.
  • The Sharks have now won 5 out of their last 6 games and appears to have bounced back from their rocky start. Logan Couture has lead the way with a team leading 10 goals. The next Sharks player has 5 goals.
  • Brent Burns is having a tough time following up his magnificent Norris Trophy season as he only has 7 points through 15 games and no goals to his name. He's also currently sitting at a -6. One can argue that the reason the Sharks aren't performing better is that they aren't getting the offense that they expect from Burns
  • The LA Kings had an embarrassing game against the Tampa Bay Lightning losing by a score of 5-2. The Kings were unable to take advantage of yet another team playing their 2nd game of a back to back. The Lightning pounced on the Kings early on tallying 4 goals in the first period and never looked back.
  • The Kings attempted a come back and appeared to have put the game within reach, but unfortunately had a goal called back for goalie interference.
  • The Kings defeated the Sharks 4-1 on the 2nd game of the season and showed the rest of the division that this is a different Kings team this year. But the Sharks are good form right now while the Kings are digging themselves into holes and climbing out of them. The Kings are looking for better starts.
  • Little note, Marian Gaborik returned to practice for the first this season and looking closer and closer to returning full time.
Tweets of the Game!

Will be missing this game tonight. I'll be attending the US women's soccer team play Canada.
Enjoy the game everyone! GO KINGS GO
P.S. I like the center alignment much better. Will be going with this from now on.

lightning made the sharks look awfully slow, hopefully with kempe in the kings can do the same

am i seeing things though? m&m broken up? i do like the sound of a 56/27 pairing

really like the separation of Muzz/Amart..
Muzzin-Fantenberg
MacDermid-Martinez
seem like much better pairings and allows a hopeful reduction in minutes

Would be nice to see a strong response from the Kings after the Tampa loss.

M & M not paired together?!

Yep we've rebounded quite well after 'poor' games thus far.

That being said SJ is starting to warm up a bit and divisional games are always a battle. This is a big game considering the 4-point swing and that we're coming off a loss. SJ was also saving Jones for us so they weren't just comfortable going for 2 last night. Gonna be the usual battle I think!

Just win it.
I'm not even worried about last game. We didn't play great but basically took about 5 minutes off and lost because of it. Most teams can't punish you the bad. If the goalie interference call had gone the other way that game could have been very different.

Most of our losses have featured a lost goal somehow, that's the really crazy thing

Like, had we been on the other side of a few controversial calls, with a little more luck, we could be literally undefeated.

Edit: going back I don't think the Calgary game had issues, but it's been a while. More just making a point than going for complete accuracy :P

This game feels like one of those frustrating games we've seen many a times. Wouldn't be surprised one bit if we loss. Just one of those feelings.

I know it's said they'll even out in the end. We'll we're getting quite a savings account built up. Can we draw some compound interest on that please?

they showed defensive pairings on the pregame and had m&m together.. hm.
