NEWS/NOTES
- The Anaheim Ducks lost to the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a shootout Saturday night. Corey Perry scored the lone goal for the Ducks that night. Ryan Miller was between the pipes. Sharks gave up the early goal, but controlled the Ducks throughout the night and eventually broke down the ducks defense and came from behind to defeat the Ducks in a shootout.
- Injuries are the main headline when talking about the Anaheim Ducks. After being eliminated by the Nashville Predators in 6 games in the Western Conference Finals, the Ducks learned that Ryan Kesler, Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen would all be out injured well into the season. And to add insult to injury(pun intended) Ryan Getzlaf and Cam Fowler have both picked up injuries recently.
- Rickard Rakell has had to shoulder the weight of losing Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler to injury and currently leads the ducks in points 5 goals and 4 asssists in 14 games so far.
- The LA Kings lost to the Nashville Predators in overtime 4-3. The Kings did however make a massive 3rd period comeback with goals coming from Alex Iafallo (YAY), Christian Folin and Alec Martinez.
- The Kings went 2-2-1 against the Ducks last season, but the Kings will look to take advantage of the Ducks injuries to centers Ryan Kesler and Ryan Getzlaf.
