Didn’t watch but the team has to do a better job defending home ice. They’re a good defensive team, but they’re getting ventilated at home, which is a sign of being way too comfortable when they haven’t come close to earning that.

Also whoever decided to put 7D in tonight to get Juulsen some minutes…lol. -3 in 7 minutes, this guys best spot is riding the bench, he shouldn’t be seeing ice time against good teams ever based on what he’s shown over the last year.

I think the Canuck front office knows that there are times when their blueline is going to cost them games and points.

But they're just biding their time.....building up a salary cap cushion, and when the time comes they'll address it.
So you think we aren't going to lose another game once we get this new defenseman ? I swear we could add 2 defensemen a year and this would still be trotted out after every loss.

He had the clear of the game in one of the PK's. They collectively lost the 3rd because they ran out of gas. This wasn't Juulsens fault

I don't think anyone is going to look at the goals we let in tonight and feel like we got ventilated. Like seriously look at how the puck bounced around on at least 5 of them. You have to take egg on the face from the hockey gods sometimes. There's no defending against a stanchion. The stanchion giveth and taketh

I dont think theyve been a good defensive team this season.

The eye test obviously says that buuut... Wish I remembered the numbers, Drance went through some non public data and they were sooo far off from their last years marks.

juulsen is a whole other level of not an NHL calibre defender than desharnais

Desharnais went all the way to a cup final but apparently he's not an NHL caliber defenseman. Most teams have a bubble player like Juulsen in and out of the roster. This isn't some unique thing. And doesn't need to be repeated after every loss

When Joshua gets back, between him and Sherwood this team will be tough to play against. Could be the difference moving forward.
The difference ? We swept California and beat the Kings who were on a streak. The team was gassed after 40 because of the road trip. Its almost like people expected us to go 82/0

People underestimate the watering down of defenseman with two extra teams these days

yes. there are just not enough good defensemen to go around now.

its why I expect they're going to have have WIllander immediately stapled to their bottom pairing the instant his college season ends.

I think we got ventilated. They had only a few shifts of sustained pressure in the oilers zone while the oilers looked like the Harlem globetrotters in our zone for the majority of the game. It was pretty painful.

It was like that in the 3rd after like the 5th goal?
some of the penalties against us was pretty damn soft, especially the ones against us in the 3rd and sadly that really took the momentum away from us

Had to attend important family function so missed this one. Had a feeling they'd have little left after the road trip and the team was relying too much on Hughes to carry them.

I know Zadorov is having a very so-so season in Boston but he fit in well here and without him ended up with players that don't seem NHL capable. They can't spread the load around evenly enough as they did last year.

Meh. Thought the game was pretty much dead even through 45 minutes until the 4-2 goal and then the BS chintzy penalty immediately following it.

Reffing in this game still has me seething. McDavid barely touched? PENALTY! McDavid blatantly hauls down a Canuck multiple times in this game? Nothing. Does Quinn Hughes get the same superstar treatment when he gets blatantly dumped? Nope.

And I'll keep saying this : *every f***ing game* where we're leading 3-1 or 4-3 on the road the home team gets multiple chintzy game management calls in their favour to give them the opportunity to tie. And the reverse just does not happen to us in our home rink. And tonight was another textbook example where the road team is somehow getting the chintzy calls when leading.

Noah Juulsen is not an NHL player.

JT Miller had a rough game.

Pettersson actually looked like Pettersson tonight.
