This has been the most frustrating season I can ever remember. It's tough to even discuss the Kings right now. The roster is just so bad and it appears the management and coaching staff are clueless.

I still don't think their going to be bad enough for a top 5 pick, if they are then this season will be a success. I still see them finishing as a black hole team

The Ducks won some games earlier in the year with smoke and mirrors, Gibson has an unsustainable save%, they are a bad team to. Could be right there with the Kings.

I feel bad for Kovalchuk...wants to win a cup and come back to the NHL...and not even going to get into the playoffs.
I hope the Kings start getting vultures asking about Kopitar, Doughty and Kovalhuk...to see if they would waive their
no trade clauses....YES, of course salary has to come back. Fine. If Duchene and Karlsson get 4 or 5 assets back,
let's start entertaining 3 or 4 assets (including 2 GOOD roster players back plus prospect and #1 pick) for them.

Avs are better after trading Duchene and still have Ottawas #1 2019 pick...Ottawa playing better without Karlsson. Tierney and DeMelo looking good there.
Need a REAL shakeup. Wish they could just get rid of Thompson and Phaneuf. And send Pearson away for almost anything.

The Kopitar/Doughty duo had a chance to be something so special, two cups and three deep runs so quickly. Kopi was 26 and Drew was 24 when they won that second cup in June 2014. And the Kings have wasted five of their stone prime years. It's really sad when you think about it, now allowing your terrible coach to play them insane minutes to prop up the garbage team you've built around them. It's such BS.

Honestly the Kings shouldn't have won that game, the Rangers gave it away to let the Kings tie it on the PP. Marty's shot was a fluke goal that King Hank just wasn't set for.

True about Ontario...BUT, JAD has much promise, Kupari has 12 pts in 16 games as an 18 yr old in Liga, and has legit talent and elite speed...and Akil Thomas #3 in scoring in OHL...
then there's Sodgergran, 5 goals on the 3rd line in SHL...Clague has ability and needs 1-2 years in AHL. Brickley and Petersen have promise. Mikey Anderson on #1 Minn Duluth team.
Best prospect pool in years...especially if Vilardi is ready soon. Just no one to make a difference now.
And, a top 5 pick like Hughes, Kakko, Cozens, Podkolzin, Dach can be game changers in 1-2 yrs.

I doubt anyone wants Kopitar on that contract. Both length and cap hit are crushing to a team.

If I woke up to news tomorrow that they have traded one of Toffoli, Pearson, Carter, Martinez or Muzzin, I would have a lot more confidence in what they are doing. It would be a clear sign that the team is going to get younger and change the room a bit. Sadly I think it's more likely to get a text that Blake has traded for someone trying to fix this mess.

Just harder and harder to defend Blake with each passing game.
