Just two points out of first in the Pacific with three games in hand. Now heading home for a six-gamer.

I think the Canucks jumped on a tired team......L.A. back home after a lengthy road-trip. But a California sweep is something I don't think they've ever accomplished in franchise history.

When you watch Kopitar play, all you can do is wistfully contemplate what might have been. In 2005 the Canucks picked the late Luc Bourdon at 10th overall; and the Kings made Kopitar their pick at No. 11.

If that draft was flipped, maybe the Canucks actually win a Cup in 2011 or 2012.

Strong performance, best win of the season so far. Team really doubled down after the nauseating cheapshot on Boeser. Strong defensive effort, strong performances from top to bottom of the lineup.

Reffing was f***ing terrible. Entire game was treated like they need to even up a 'break' we received when they gave a ridiculously obvious 5-minute penalty when our leading goal scorer was injured on an awful cheap shot. 0 PPs the rest of the way, multiple soft calls handed to them,

Jeannot should be getting a very long suspension. That was about as predatory as it gets. What a f***ing puke of a player. Liked our response in the context of playing the game hard but this did make it obvious how little actual physical pushback we have in games like this and how much Zadorov's presence is missed.

Pettersson started slowly but flicked a switch after the Boeser injury and competed hard. Actually skated to win races to pucks instead of pulling up short and conceding. Looked like he wanted the puck and it's been a long time since you could say that.

Hughes was ridiculous, again. Best player on the ice by a mile. Hart talk is legit.

Jake Debrusk is on a heater. Long may it last.

3rd line very good again, Sherwood hit everything that moved. Almost feels weird when that line doesn't score right now.

Desharnais was awful on the 1-0 goal but that pairing was solid the rest of the way. Brannstrom does seem to be in the lineup for good at this point.

Best game for Myers-Soucy this season.

Lankinen is great every night.

Brandt Clarke is 21 years old and his hair looks like a 52 y/o Hulk Hogan's. And he's a little bitch. Embarrassing.

With Kopitar backing up the Sedins? We probably win a couple cups.

Thought the Kings could have had a few more goals easily, seemed to whiff and miss the net on a lot of their better chances. But the Kings have been a good team this year that you can't expect to dominate so it was a good effort overall.

Hope Boeser is okay, obviously his health is first and foremost but he's very important to the team on the ice. Just a stupid, dangerous play by that idiot Jeannot.

What more can you say about Hughes, seems to dominate every time he's on the ice. He's a lethal weapon right now.

Myers has strung together a couple good efforts now. Soucy with probably his best game of the season although that's not saying much.

Shocked that Brannstrom got less than 12 minutes of ice, seemed like he was out there more often. On the ice for a goal against but that was on Desharnais and Sherwood. Deshernais was mostly fine after that but making an outlet pass and getting caught flat-footed on his blueline seem to be his main weaknesses.

Pettersson is excellent defensively but is still pretty much a non-factor offensively. However at the same time I get the feeling that he's coming along slowly, but that just may be wishful thinking.

Don't usually comment on the reffing but outside of the correct call on Jeannot, it was awful.

Hughes is better than Makar and the best overall defenceman in the entire NHL.

I don't give a f*** what Avs fans say. Cale can get 100 points this season, if Quinn gets 80 he's still the better player.

It's backed up by stats. Makar's numbers are significantly reliant on Mackinnon being on the ice with him. Obviously Makar is a Norris-level defenceman, but it's Hughes any day of the week.

this argument will be put in it's grave at the 4 nations tournament, when hughes dances circles aroudn team canada while makar is on the second pairing.

Strongest win of the season for this team.

Lankinen and Hughes carried, as per usual.

Still salty AF that the LA statkeeper robbed Hughes and Miller of assists on the Garland goal by claiming that Kuemper "gained control of the puck and shot it into his own net" which isn't true at all.

Really hope Boeser has a speedy and full recovery.

It's funny you mention this. I'm pretty plugged in watching the games. For years I swear LA has outhit every team that ever played. They almost always outshoot the other team, no matter what. I mean Dustin Brown had 400 hits a season guaranteed. It's not that hard to do your job but there's a lot of plastic tits and collagen riddle grills at the games is a right and I guess it's distracting at times. I saw a gal down there years ago at the Staples Centre who was probably 5 ft 8 and had tits poking into the next row and maybe was a buck twenty. She looked like she blew a bee hive. Her face didn't move. Eyes like a catfish. It doesn't exist......: but it does. Maybe we need to be easier on the stats nerds at those games.

Yeesh Kings got MS fired up, you love to see it. Agree on all accounts. Wish we had a physical presence to punish the Kings stars. Hate when teams feel like they can liberties with our best players without consequences. God knows the DoPS doesn’t hold anyone accountable.
