GDT: Gm 1: kings vs flyers 7pm @ Staples

I'm sure someone has said this already but looks like our offense is in mid-season form.
 
Great first period in my book, no season crippling injury in the first, no Kopitar hitting the post and no goal given up in the first minute/shot.

Kopitar/Carter/Drew all pretty much just skated around. Looked like pickup practice skate out of them.
 
People already being negative during the first period, wow. Kings actually played offensively against an offensive team, and not only that it's a new system the Kings are using. Sheesh. Dem naysayers. Good first period by the Kings.

Noticed Drew skating the puck a lot more, love it.

Poor snakebitten Kopitar has returned, yuck.

Iafallo looking like a top-sixer though, wow. What a signing he could be. Operation "make Kopi shoot" will be fine with him up there and Brown creating some havoc.

Sloppy as expected for game 1, but looked better and faster than I thought, team speed is up bigtime, loving the new system, guys trying to strike quickly

Team speed is awesome and I'm excited. Creativity is for sure up, so the game didn't actually bore me.

Hawks won 10-1......?

Seriously, seen lots of plays that wouldn't even have been attempted last year. The little triangle offense deal from behind the net...no way Sutter lets a guy center the puck towards our own goal :laugh: Even seen some cross-ice passes that didn't connect (Carter for example) but that wouldn't have been attempted before, and those at least keep the D honest so they don't just camp the cycle.

Hawks dummying the Pens is wonderful.

He's been quietly very impressive, considering our D is patchwork right now.

It's gonna take time to adjust. You don't adjust during f***ing preseason.

Never mind these Kings fans. This forum is bi-polar and the definition of instant-gratification
