I think it was probably last year that I watched him in some non-Leafs games and came to the same realization. He has no concept of balanced commentary. No team plays perfect but if one team establishes themselves as the dominant team throughout the game, he'll be all positive for one team and all negative for the other. The good team can make a bad mistake, the bad team can make a smart play but once he's established which team is playing which role, it's not often that he'll bother to make commentary that does't suit the narrative he's assigned. It's not that his criticism is unfair or unfounded, he just likes to keep piling it on which is annoying to listen to. I don't think any Canadian fanbase likes him and it seems they all think he's biased against their team.

It's so sad but as terrible as Healy is, I'd rather hear endless bashing and unfounded criticism (sometimes founded) than just countless eye bulging skin scratching monotoned stupidity from Hrudey , Simpson and Hughston.. My god.. Anyone else notice how all three of them seek validation of their ridiculous commentary by saying **** like:

Hrudey: He's got such soft hands, you can just see the raw talent right? Amazing how he skates so fast isn't? That's a great shot wouldn't you say so? I love how smooth he is, just so smooth.. Isn;t it incredible? Guys? Right? Right guys? Can you hear me? Is my Mike on??

Glenn Healy: Why don't you shove a pineapple grenade up your giant fat*** Hrudey and have skeletor over there pour tobasco in your eyes you dimwitted ****scab.

Simpson: That was really uncalled for Glenn, now, you know that we are on live television here and you may get some negative feedback from the network.

Hughston: AghghhghhhUUgghhhUUUUUUUUUgghhhhh UUUggghhhhhhhh yyyyeaaahhhhhhh pass your brother that puck Danny.. he's ready for a nice long soft pass Danny, feed him..

Healy: God Hughston you make me ****** sick you creepy talentless ****bag.

Simpson: Glenn with all due resp.....

I'll go ahead and say it - I find the Simpson, Hughson, Healy trio far more tolerable when the Leafs and Canucks aren't involved.
