I will never understand the "play at 40% people"

It's a two way sport. If you let off the pedal it will mean you're playing in your own end and getting hit more, getting your goalie lit up more, and intentionally having to throw the puck to the opponents. Not going to happen by choice.

Not to mention goal differential actually matters.

Sigh. I'm pretty sure they're good for goal differential tonight. That's a fine point though but my discussion was more philosophical so that's why I was engaged with that one specific user. Goal differential is a fair point, the people defending it outside of that is who my problem is with.
