Thanks to Munchkin in particular but also to everyone else who is providing information in this and my other threads.

I am totally swamped right now with work and some personal business, so I really appreciate everyone keeping these threads alive. I'll try to squeeze in at least a few updates over the next few days, but right now it is difficult to tell, when I will actually find the time.

U18 lost 5-4 after shootout to Slovakia.

I only watched the later half of the game (damn time zones) in which Germany looked much more dangerous.

Bokk with 3 assists and from what I saw again a very strong game from him.
Very good stickwork which resulted in a couple takeaways. Good speed, good vision and a very nice play on the rush that lead to the 4-3 lead.

After losing 3-1 to Switzerland U17 team, Germany had a great comeback against the French U18s. After 2 periods the score was 4-1 in favor of the french, but in the third the first line of Fleischer, Saakyan, and Schitz were able to to lead them to tie it 5-5 and send it to OT. In OT Jentzsch was able to finish it off, great game from the Germans. :handclap:

4-2 loss to Belarus.

Germany was a little outclassed here. Way too often when they finally had some puck possession they dumped the puck deep to go for a line change.

Bokk 2 primary assists. Good game from him again. Very calm with the puck and with a good drive to the net.

U18 with 5-2 win against Denmark.

Standouts today:
Max Pietschmann with 4 assists. With 6 points Germanys topscorer of the tournament.
Thomas Reichel with 2 very nice goals into the top left corner.
Tom Knobloch 1 goal 1 assist. Nice speed, nice puck control.

Dominik Bokk held pointless today. Couldn´t get much going offensively with reduced ice time except for 2 or 3 nice moves. What is really impressing me though are his defensive poke-checks. I guess he had about 5 takeaways just with his aggressive stick-work.

I haven't been contributing much because we just released our Top 100 rankings at Future Considerations and I made sure no German players would get anywhere near that list. Looks like a rather disappointing group for 2017. I still have hope for Reichel because of what I've been hearing about him, but in my viewings he was seldom able to convince me of his draft potential.

I do have plans to start keeping an eye on 2018 and 2019, though, particularly Bokk and Valenti. I have seen both play several times but you know how quickly things can change over the course of a few months.

Seems right, I'm not too surprised they're still watching Reichel. A 6 foot 3 in LW looks interesting for many NHL teams. Good news for Gawanke though he is the top scoring rookie defense men in the Q and tied for second in the CHL

Reichel reminds me a little of Draisaitl in the sense that he has a large frame, rather weak skating, but strong vision, and both can play C or wing.

BUT:
Draisaitl uses his frame to his advantage, Reichel does not.
Draisaitl has speed, Reichel does not.
Draisaitl is creative, Reichel is not.
Draisaitl can play under pressure, Reichel cannot.
(Among other issues)

Draisaitl is obviously much, much better overall. All I'm saying is that Reichel could be a poor man's Draisaitl, but he isn't using his tools to his advantage.

I think Reichel could play a power forward game, but he only looks like a potential PP-specialist right now. Good hands, vision and passing, but he can only utilize his skills when he has time and space.

There are exceptions, but that's my overall impression of him thus far.

What about players like Maximilian Eisenmenger, Maximilian Adam, Cedric Schiemenz, Louis Latta, Lean Bergmann, Calvin Pokorny, Gianluca Balla?

But great to see Tobias Fohrler in the team....

Lean Bergmann and Cedric Schiemenz are younger and probably less talented. They can play for the German U18 team in April, if they want. I believe Eisenmenger plays for Sweden, and believe his brother plays for Sweden too

I have strong expectations for this tournament, I think they are poised to be promoted.

I don't think that was an official IIHF tournament.

I believe Bergmann is not eligible for U18 since he is born in '98, but Schiemenz seems a likely option for that team.

Bad scouting, sure players are listed as DEL, DEL2 or Oberliga players but are they carrying a lot of ice time? NOPE. Asking a coach or manager on reports is okay but to do the job right you need to get into the trenches and look at players day in and day out. Sorry, this team will need a miracle to move up. Can't wait to hear the excuses from coaching staff.

Did he not know before the tournament it was going to be tough to move back up? How can second be good? This kind of mentality is not acceptable. The A group teams that dominate have the, "hate to lose" attitude. Being bridesmaid at every wedding does not get you married. The officials with their 5 star camouflage program and new coaching system is not the real solution. In North America, players from the age of 15 to 20, play over 60 games a year. Lastly, sitting on the bench does not get you married but it does give you a front row seat at the U20 Eishockey Weltmeisterschaft Div.I.

It's not like we had a good amount of talent this year, and we were supposed to win.

U17 will play Italy U18 tomorrow. Roster here Players with numbers are going
